Don't know if this has been discussed yet, if so I'm sorry. Yesterday Terry played Brandon in baseball. Little Dixon hits a bomb in his first at bat, then comes up again and the Brandon pitcher hit him..... (it was not on purpose from all I gather) Little Dixon then charged the and there was a scuffle on the mound. After the game Anthony shoved Dan Davis (Brandon's A.D.) out of the way to fight the pitcher that hit his brother, after which Davis called the police. Don't know if anything happened after that and if there were any arrests.

Nice. Although, I will say I can kind of sympathize with AD. My cousin was playing football for Madison St. Joseph's and a guy for MSD- yes, Mississippi School for the Deaf- picked him up and drove him headfirst into the ground after the whistle. My cousin had to go to the hospital and thankfully was OK. It greatly pissed me off, and no I didn't attack anyone, but when something like that happens to your family, it gets very personal and you react in a way that you wouldn't otherwise.

So, while I'm taking up for AD, I'm going to go ahead and say that if he did anything that warrants legal action, it should be taken and AD should accept whatever punishment comes down.

Also, all this said, I'm going to call BS on this rumor.

but the fact that your cousin played for JACKSON Saint Joe is a perfectly acceptable reason to drive him head first into the ground.

But not after the whistle.

Yeah, yeah, I know that the guy was deaf, but they wave their arms.

Catholic schools suck......just kidding.

But, I do wonder why in the hell, if you are a college student, you want to fight a high school pitcher that hits your brother with a pitch. Clearly, that goes on the "stupid **** you shouldn't do" list.

I have heard that AD was not at the game. Momma called and he ran over from Jackson to "resolve" the situation. Momma was heard yelling, "Call the police!" Also heard that Brandon PD as been in contact with CC.

Christ, I attend every home game and I had to be out of town yesterday.

Do you know more about why Ray charged the mound? Was he hit in the head?

The version I heard today (from a family member of a Brandon player who was there) was that Dixon went yard twice (not once) and celebrated and taunted the Brandon team while rounding the bases. The next time up the pitcher plunked him in the back, he charged the mound and was ejected. This person didn't say much about what happened outside the fence other than some of the Dixon family was ticked that he was pegged and ejected. He did say the law got involved but said nothing more specific than that.

1. Little Dixon hit two homeruns and instead of doing a HR trot around the bases, he dances and chants. He also danced around homeplate after rounding the bases.
2. He hit a second HR and did the same thing.
3. Third time up, he was hit by a pitcher with a very slow pitch
4. Little Dixon charges mound, benches clear and that crap and it gets broken up
5. AD shows up with five "friends" and blocks the Brandon dugout after the game and won't let the kids out until the pitcher is "served" up to him to "teach him a lesson"
6. Terry's coach goes over to Brandon dugout and tried to get AD to leave, but he won't until he teaches the young pitcher a "lesson"
7. brandon's resource officer calls in reinforcements and finally they get Dixon abd his posse out of there. Brandon police had to escort the brandon players to their cars.

That's what happened. Pretty sad if you ask me.

*** wrong.

Because, the Dixon boys were raised the right way by a Mom that patrols the mean halls of Terry High School insisting everyone act like responsible polite young citizens. She is single handedly responsible for the high academic esteem in which that institution is held.

Mr. Dixon's behavior bespeaks a level of dumbassedry that one must usually go to a bowling alley to witness.

coaches should always try to lead young men...unless of course it gets in the way of winning.

to one player in a game because you taught your pitchers to bean the batter the next time is not something you should be especially proud of.

20? yrs ago, I gave up a few yard-balls in high school, one of which was legendary, and I can say that Dixon got off lucky with it in the back. I would've put it under his chin and then met him halfway to the plate.

edited to include "if he was taunting my team after the first one."

I said we would plug the guy if we was clowning. Most of the time, we just made sure not to make the same mistake we made the first time

But when a player hits two hr off you in a game you always throw "at him" not necessarily into him. When a player hits multiple hr and showboats around the bases you through into him, with your best fastball, Always!

So you don't put up with players clowning around? What if that player was troubled and your beaning him sent him over the edge? Did you ever think about that?

1. I find it hard to believe that in 13 years your teams never once gave up multiple home runs to one player.

2. You're absolutely right that you don't hit a guy because he hit a home run. But if he's hamming it up going around the bases, you damn sure throw inside the next time.

the way we taught pitching, we never gave up many HR's period. Much less two to one player

13 years of coaching would be probably about 250-300 games. I don't think any team can go that long without giving up 2 HRs to one player in a game at least once.

Edited to add that if you really did go that long without ever giving up 2 HRs to the same player, you'd have been a lot better off to give up the occasional multiple HR game and not have give up all those walks and HBPs every time somebody hits a HR.
