Shame to waste such an effort from Nick

He was fantastic but got so little help. With Brooks still out hurt, NU can’t win a game like that with two combined points from Ty and Matt. We should expect more from our seniors, frankly. If Brooks plays and even one of those guys somewhat shows up, I think we win that one. Bummer of a loss.

It’s a tough loss to swallow but…

IF Brooks comes back healthy
and
IF Ty and Matt return to form

…this will be a really good learning experience for the young guys. Plus, Nick knows he can be a star.

Can’t afford to drop any silly games but Dayton is a solid team. Gotta just get through the noncon as the three seniors get back to game shape.

This is going to sound overly harsh and I mean it more as an observation than a criticism but I think Matt may be the worst low-post big man starter I have ever seen. This is his fifth year and he is still unable to score other than on dunks and wide open layups. He is who he is at this point and he is obviously a huge part of the team. And I know he is still working his way into game shape.

Hunger is much improved. But he needs to hang on to the ball. This was the 3rd or 4th time in the past couple of seasons the ball has flown out of his hands when he has gone to take a shot.

Come on man, you must have memory block from the PTSD watching the likes of Aaron Molnar, Brian Schwabe, Michael Thompson, and Alex Olah. I don’t blame you but come on.

I meant to say low-post scorer. I didn’t mean to suggest overall offense. Those other guys were capable of scoring other than on uncontested layups and dunks. Most of them rarely dunked. Big Matt still has not even learned a pump fake.
