Shaun Watson out as qb coach at Texas. He did a great job at UofL.

I think it takes more than 1 year to get a qb and oc on the same page. I seem to remember Joker and Sanders having trouble with young qb's also. I have not seen many qb's that have had a different coach every year that have not struggled to adjust. That said, my hope is for Barker and or whom ever the qb is to show signs of improvement this year.
I think the biggest issue's are in game coaching. It appears to the fans eye's that Stoops is in the way of the oc, if he does not trust coach Dawson, the sooner he replaces him the faster his offence will go. JMOHO as alway's thank you guy's,and (gal's) for all you do to make this my favorite fan site. GBB

UL fans did not look me the conservative play calling but he did do a great job with a Teddy as a Qb coach. Funny thing is when Charley was talking with Texas he went wide open in a teddy last bowl game.

With that said Strong is in panic mode. The conservative ball control offense he likes will not work in the no defense B-12 where the first team to 40 usually wins. It is a wide open all spread league so he has to find a spread OC. What he really needs is a Qb. Towels is portably better than any Qb on his roster.

Charlie has been in trouble for the past couple years, but his buyout prevents the Longhorns from firing him now. He is in hire new coaches stage of his contract meaning his future at Texas is close to being on life support.

Correct...plus you have that guy at Houston that is playing in a Big Bowl Game and will be heavy favorites next year to go to another NYD Six Bowl...IMO he needs to win at least 9 games to save his job...

And that guy at Houston might have just signed an extension instead of taking a major opening because he wanted to still be close by if one of the best jobs in college football does open up next year or even the year after, definitely a job worth waiting on.

And no, the buyout will not be any problem for the Longhorns.

Fiscal matters with athletics contracts and buyout provisions are under greater scrutiny today than years past.

LOL I see. In that case Charlie needs to thank him for the Texas job

Now you have it, and yes Charlie should thank him for the job. Probably not the reason he HAD to take him with him to Thug U though. I thought it was laughable that as soon as hurtt was exposed as one of the worst cheaters in recruiting ever (I thought he was the worst, $930,000,000 backer for his $100 handshakes, does anyone really believe that $5,000 "loan" was to keep from having his electricity cut off?) complete with paid prostitutes and abortions (sound familiar?) the clowns at ESPN immediately forgot about the TWO TIME NROTY and appointed Charlie as a great recruiter. But then they owed jurich a lot for all those Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday (High School's day), and Sunday games whenever they needed one.
