Anyone else have to turn the game off? It's gut wrenching and a reminder how dangerous the game can be. I hope nothing but the best for him.
Yeah. It sure didn't look like something that would result in a fracture of his neck. I'm hoping it was some kind of a transient spinal cord "bruise" kind of like a stinger.

I sure hope so. What do they do for that if it's bruising? Steroids to take down the swelling?
I would assume that they would try to determine quickly what the cause of his symptoms are and then hit him fast and hard with IV steroids.

Made a tackle with his head down, collapsed to the ground and legs flopped as he rolled over. Never moved his legs, carted off the field and taken to hospital by ambulance
The way he reached around for his back you wonder if it might be a disc extrusion in his upper lumbar spine.

You'd think the pros would know better than to come blowing in with your head down yet I see it constantly. Listened to parts of the game on the radio and it sounded like they were trying to kill each other. Hopefully Shazier makes a full and speedy recovery. That was tough to watch.

The hit was more to the side of his head and I'm not sure it would have made any difference if he would have had his head up. Stuff happens. It's a violent sport. Spinal contusion it is. Best case scenario and what I was hoping it was.

The hell it was to the side. Even Woodson in the post game show pleaded with plauers of all ages to tackle with their heads up.

Side of the head and shoulder. The injury was from the force downward on his shoulder and spine it appeared to me. I watched it live and saw the replay multiple times. Doesn't matter. Head up or head down it's a lumbar back injury not a neck or head injury.

He has always tackled with his down. Sad this happened but with his technique I am not surprised.
