The best team ever in North Carolina. We will be watching you all this year. We beat ya last year but maybe not this year. What do you all have 10-12 state titles? We have a long way to go to even get a sniff of that.

What makes Shelby so impressive is not the state titles. It’s the TEAMS Shelby has had. Teams that beat Gaffney SC, teams that pushed Crest’s best team to its limit in 2014 and 2015. Shelby has had teams that could stand toe to toe with knotts’s BS Independence run or Butler or Mallard Creek. I’d love to see it too. I hate em but they truly are a hellva team

When is the last time Shelby beat Gaffney SC post 1901? Seriously? Gaffney is undefeated against Cleveland County in the 20th century.

Gaffney used to smash Shelby AND Crest and in the 90s. They beat Crest by 40+ points in 97 I think, the year after Crest won the 2nd 4A(before subdividing) title. The same Crest that Richmond barely squeaked by that year 16-12 I think.

Your missing the point. They are a 2A school that has had teams in the past that I would put against a lot of 4A teams. Maybe not so much this year, but years past definitely.

That point is so broad I was overwhelmed by the width and breadth of it. pfft. You can say that about a dozen 2A schools in NC.
