The Two and a Half Men no laugh track on YouTube is brutal but not nearly as bad. I hate sitcoms where it looks like they're just waiting for the character to say something "witty." It's cringe-worthy.

I think I've enjoyed one "laugh track"/studio audience show ever and that was That 70s Show.
Sienfeld was filmed with half live half track

I would add that and I liked KOQ but BBT is butthole

Seinfeld was actually funny. It seemed natural too; not just "I'm going to wait for my witty line to say."
Very natural. I wouldnt even put it in the same category as the others. BBT made me leave my friends house after cringe staring at him for the first 15 mins of the show. Like, I wasnt even mad at the show, I was mad at him for laughing at it.

When I see people laughing at BBT, I always think of this in the movie Idiocracy.

Haters never post what they watch. They can sling it but can't take it

Well if you're that interested I don't watch any sitcoms currently except for Modern Family which my wife loves. Its pretty funny on occasion and has its moments, though the last couple of seasons have been kind of meh to me. The last "comedy" show that I personally watched and loved was Curb your Enthusiasm, but they haven't made a new episode in like 5 years unfortunately. I also love Seinfeld and regularly watch those reruns. Used to really like "Its always sunny in Philadelphia" a while back, but haven't watched an episode in at least 5 or 6 years, but the first 3 or 4 seasons I watched regularly. Used to watch that show with Jason Bateman that I can't for the life of me remember the name of a while back, liked that one. Used to love South Park but that was like 10 years ago. That's about all I can think of at the moment, I'll make sure and keep you updated if I remember any more!

So you pick three or four shows in the last 20 years but don't watch comedies now? How convenient. But you blast others for liking the ratings king currently? Complete BS.

I don't care for most of the shows that Ron mentioned, but at least he had the balls to give his list (unlike the other haters). So I'm not going to criticize his shows.

<-- hates anything Chuck Lorre has touched. BBT might be the worst show on the air right now and usually I assume people are joking when they say they like it. Two and a Half Men was similarly awful for the great majority of its airtime.

<-- currently watching Man in the High Castle, GoT, Modern Family, and Veep

plenty of other shows that have been excellent in recent years. Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, etc

If you watch junk like BBT on a regular basis, it's due to one of three things:
(1) You have an absolutely awful sense of humor
(2) You sit in front of the TV way, way too much
(3) You're too poor to afford basic cable and/or Netflix/Hulu/etc

If you think Modern Family is that much better than BBT.. Lmfao. No one is saying BBT is some ground breaking comedy. If anything.. The nerd humor and characters are the humor, not the jokes themselves.

And I enjoy MF.. at least the first few seasons. It's quite stale now, and pretty sappy. They need to pull the plug on that show before BBT.

Curb is insanely funny.. But has had like 4 seasons in the past decade.

The best comedies now.. Off the top of my head... Goldberg's, New Girl, Rick and Morty..

I'm a bit behind, takes me a seask. To grab everything. Hoping to catch some of the FX comedies too.

And Seinfield.. Ask Doug Stanhope what he thinks about Seinfield and that type of comedy lol.

Not every comedy needs to be so GD high brow, by the way. Take it for what it is. Otherwise we're stuck with Wes Anderson.. And I can only take so much of that self-righteous comedy. (No offense, Bill Murray).

My favorite comedies were It's Always Sunny and Trailer Park Boys but they hit a big decline in the later years. Sitcom wise, like I said, I really loved That 70s Show when it was on and as of late, I watched Netflix' Master of None and the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Not great but enjoyable for most of it.

Oh man.. We'll have to agree to disagree. Because at least the nerd humor of BBT keeps it afloat. I love both though..

The quality of writing really isn't much differen IMO.. I'm very surprised to see people enjoy MF and loathe BBT.

Never got into AS.. Got into it too late a d the characters turned into a bunch of aholes. No one was likeable.

Loved 70s show. But again.. To me, they nailed their niche just like BBT, so I'm surprised to hear this. But 70s had better characters and wasn't so hammy.

Love talking all types of comedy.. But have to check back in tomorrow.. Bed time for me.

LOL what do you want me to do? I barely watch TV anymore, rarely watch anything on the weekdays, sorry if that offends you, but I listed the comedies I watch. I think most of them are crap now. To tell you the truth I've never seen a full episode of BBT, just like 5 minutes of some episodes here and there. If seinfeld wasn't on around the time I get home before dinner I wouldn't be watching that either, I usually watch like 10 minutes of an episode. If you want to feel better about yourself and make fun of me, I'll be watching the Bachelor and Married at First Sight on the regular when those new seasons start with my wife, and those will literally be the only programs I'll be watching regularly in the winter. :weary:

I could have written this. Seeing the promos for this seasons Sunny makes me want to pick it up again.

I no longer have to watch Bachelor, I complained enough that she finally gave up. Was a battle for two years though. I still do Big Brother and Voice with her but hopefully my complaining about BB this year ensured it will be the last.

To be honest, prime time TV is just background noise to me while playing with the kids and browsing the Internet. With most comedies, I'll enjoy the pilot and a couple of episodes and then forget about them. Superstore is the next nominee for that honor.

The 10 o'clock Comedy Central lineup has always been 'my' TV time, but now that Kroll Show and Key and Peele are gone, I'm not sure what will keep my interest.

While she is a rabid BB fan, I am proud of the wife for never getting into The Bachelor.

It's like some people on this thread are trying to go all NPR on their comedy picks.

That's a good one. You really can't miss on their 10 and 10:30 lineup. Kroll and Key/Peele were just a notch above. Workaholics is my current favorite, but I think it's about run its course. Sleeper pick is Broad City.
