All.... Back to the wind tunnel. I have never forgotten that punt by the way... A question for Hilltopper tailgaters. Can you with grills at the stadium? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks! Ratsy
i meant to ask you last week. did you know that 186 has put an end to tailgating on school property?All.... Back to the wind tunnel. I have never forgotten that punt by the way... A question for Hilltopper tailgaters. Can you with grills at the stadium? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks! Ratsy
Oof... so at Memorial Stadium (Lanphier)? Was there a reason given? Going to assume the obvious but the alcohol was likely part of it...i meant to ask you last week. did you know that 186 has put an end to tailgating on school property?
All.... I saw that Coach. What I always did was set up the tent directly under the Springfield Luck Horseshoes sign. At the time that property was owned by the Springfield Park District. This year they "sold" the stadium and parking lot for a buck to a non profit that put in a bunch of money into upgrades for the Horseshoes.i meant to ask you last week. did you know that 186 has put an end to tailgating
Grilling should not be a problem.All.... Back to the wind tunnel. I have never forgotten that punt by the way... A question for Hilltopper tailgaters. Can you with grills at the stadium? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks! Ratsy
Agree that SHG is the favorite.Grilling should not be a problem.
SHG should be the prohibitive favorite.
All.... Correct that would be 1975. I still have somwhere at the house an unopened 16 ounce (returnable - lol) 7up bottle with the entire Hilltopper schedule including opponents and scores for that year. Pretty sure it came from a soda bottling company up north . RatsyAgree that SHG is the favorite.
The series is lopsided and the list above was missing a state championship game in the 70s when it was just Griffin HS. That said, this is a whole new game. The stakes are admittedly less high than any previous meeting, all in the playoffs.
JCA absolutely can win, but their defense (which should be excellent) needs to play better than they did Friday and the offense absolutely needs to get it together quick. They showed some flashes with perimeter playmakers that they need to get the ball to. The soph running back looked like he can be a nice lightning to the thunder of a couple seniors they have who also happen to play defense.
If they can get the ball to the weapons they will be able to make some things happen, but they have to get the ball in their hands.
All.... Thanks for the info. I assume as well away fans still park on the other side of the stadium parking lot next to the back of the National Gurad Armory where a ticket gate is available for entry. RatsyGrilling should not be a problem.

That is correct. You should have plenty of space to tailgate in the visitor’s lot.All.... Thanks for the info. I assume as well away fans still park on the other side of the stadium parking lot next to the back of the National Gurad Armory where a ticket gate is available for entry. Ratsy
there's been multiple problems leading up to this. mainly kids running amok. net-se.Oof... so at Memorial Stadium (Lanphier)? Was there a reason given? Going to assume the obvious but the alcohol was likely part of it...
i miss butch's. i used to go there a lot. fun place. i'm assuming that's where you are going. net-se.I suppose a stop at a "" very close by before the game will be in order in a quiet neighborhood on Converse Avenue. Ratsy
When I lived on the north end I had "access" to three bars a short stroll away. One was Butch's another caddy corner across the street (don't recall the name ) and Ben's Place on Converse who's claim to fame was several national shuffleboard championships won in Las Vegas.i miss butch's. i used to go there a lot. fun place. i'm assuming that's where you are going. net-se.

Playing Fenwick right outta the gate is ugly! JCA will be just fine... The difference will be the JCA O line... If you can't stop the running game it makes it difficult to win. Giving up a 80+ yr TD pass right off the bat was not a good sign but JCA hung tough. JCA has a lot of youth playing so getting punched in the mouth isnt a bad thing and I know JCA will be very ready for this game. Should be a damn good game to watch!!!Agree that SHG is the favorite.

Can watch here:JCA 14 - SHG 7 at half. Watching on Hudl (https://fan.hudl.com/usa/il/joliet/...team/18415/boys-varsity-football/?shared=true)
Definitely feels like one SHG could have... perhaps a let down compared to last week. Alas, a much easier road to hoe until they meet Rochester in W8... 5 weeks of running clocks against a much weaker CS8 West will help regain their mojo. JCA remains a thorn the Cycs can't remove. If watching paint dry was a sport, that is what this game would be

Andddd down the drain that takes goesMassey has JCA 35-20...
Therefore we can go ahead and lock this one is as my upset pick for the week. Cycs by 2 scores.
Edit: Should have led with the obvious... JCA can't win em all!
2024: JCA 49-0 SHG
2021: JCA 56-27 SHG
2011: JCA 49-7 SHG
2003: JCA 24-21
2000: JCA 52-35
SHG is due... Big due...
