Just seen the 7on 7 at North Surry. East looked average at best..(SHOCKED) North Surry actually spanked East. Nick Badgett was the best player on the field (not even close) and made everyone else look lost.

It was one of the more unique 7 on 7's I've seen for sure. This is actually our only one of the summer due to school starting so early this year. We have both of our official scrimmages on the road so it evens out.
I'm proud of the boys; they've been thru a lot this year already with the uncertainties but they played their hearts out today thru the 6 games we had. For us to finally win it was long overdue we shoulda won the tourney in 15 and 17 but better late than never. Badgett's a good kid; I love his inner fire. the kids are hard workers on the whole.. they've came to every practice I've seen so far ready to play and get better. Not much egos. If we play like this every Thursday and Friday this year I can't be upset, I'd be thrilled. We can't let this define our year though, we got a long way to go like all other 6 teams do.
East will be fine once they hit the Northwest part of their schedule; the non conference slate weeks 2-5 will battle test them. I just don't think passing is their forte yet; Gosnell being gone will take a bit for them to adjust to. Everyone goes thru that when a good players goes, it's just part of it. Them and MA I think will be closer than what everyone figures unless something crazy happens. I'll know for sure after week 5.
The main thing I took out of it today was that everyone has their own kinks to work on. No one team's perfect in June.. AAU teams may be but that's not real football lol.

It’s a 7 on 7. You can take it for what it’s worth. It’s a far cry from what a Friday night game looks like. Maybe Badgett should transfer to ES so he could get recruited..
All the HYPE that Cardinal nation is slinging around and they can't close the deal. Be it 7-7 or just a good game checkers nobody wants to lose. Seen a lot RED BIRDS in the stands with their lips stuck out. Ask them if 7-7 means nothing. Even with the UNC comment was third best. Badgett #1 and North QB second and everyone else third... And ncballicker04 maybe Badgett should go to MA,West or even East Forsythe, South Stokes or just stay at North. But why would he go to a place like East where he HYPE is a FLOP>>>>>> YEA BABY (DICKY V....)
Lol no. Badgett's not going anywhere. He's too proud of a kid to do that. Besides he will get a scholarship by what he has done and will do. Same for our QB too.
East will be fine and will still have a good year on the field. I’m sure the staff and players are all thankful to have Heartpump around, along with his axe to grind. If anything, it will keep them grounded (and even provide a little bit of extra motivation).
East will be fine. Celebrating a 7 on 7 championship of win is almost laughable by the school who does it. I’m beginning to think that Heartpump might be a middle school football coach.
You must have been one of people in the stands with your lip stuck out.. I'm not doing any celebrating.But if East has all this monster talent (according to their coaches) 7-7 should be a walk in the park. BTW I'm a very proud Little League B-team assistant to the assistant coach. Punters and kickers only.
East Surry over rated anyway that’s was demonstrated in the State Championship. Boaz is being recruited as a Tight End for UNC not a QB just so everyone is aware. Monster talent was Gosnell everyone else is being recruited by grades and average collegiate play.
MA should be good again this year. I’m interested to see the dynamics of the Bears offense for 2019. Will they move more to a running oriented attack and rely mainly on Smith? Will Poindexter be as effective in the passing game without the Greene brothers around to out-athlete most teams? There’s still plenty of talent there and the NW1A will again be a 2 team race between ES and MA. Right now ES has the edge due to returning experience. Of course, it’s a long time between now and early November when the 2 squads meet.
I’m hearing the Bears are moving out of the spread and into a version of the veer. They just don’t have the personal to run the spread with the green brothers gone. There is plenty of muscle in the backfield to be more than effective. Smith will be the muscle and best running back in the league, but there will be no shortage of help. The Bears are loaded with backs this year. I imagine you will see poindexter extending the pocket and around the ends a bit this year. His primary target should be Josh penn when he throws it and mayfield and Taylor getting looks of there own. I see kaulin smith seeing the ball a bit more. Big question marks will be who leads the bears and line play. A leader will have to step up fast , the bears were lost without Greene brothers and smith on the field in last outing against east. Nobody took charge or stepped up to lead the bears. Gonna be a fun year, gonna be kinda sad not hearing Bareman with the call on wsyd, someone correct me if I’m wrong but I believe he stepped away. If so he will be missed by many
As far as MA, teams will stack the box to stop Smith so if they are uncertain on that OL and questions about the QB...someone is going to have to step up ASAP.
Jefferson Boaz will be the quarterback. He took well over 90% of the snaps as the quarterback during the playoffs last year. He will miss having Gosnell as a option to throw it to, but he will still have Stevens, Smith, Mosley, and Bullington.
Yeah he has the weapons but definitely has to be consistent and not a great option running the read. They will still battle for the top as their OL is good!
Boaz but he is average at best. He was underwhelming impressive late in the year especially in the State Championship against Tarboro. Gosnell was far more superior in both that QB position and the WR position. What ES called the two headed monster at the QB position with Boaz and Gosnell
Was obliterated by Tarboro and from what I’m hearing 1AA West better be ready for Tarboro again this year. With respect to the West Tarboros conference schedule is about as weak as it gets but Tarboro is on another level with their program. Take that from someone who lives in Greensboro and heard the noise Tarboro has been making from there. I went to Page big 4AA here in Greensboro and I’m here to say Tarboro may not win many but they most certainly can compete at any level in North’s Carolina. I will say the same about Wallace Rose Hill they are a powerhouse and seemed to have Tarboros number of late in recent years but Tarboro has their number for many years back In the day. Wallace another school that could compete at any level. Shelby and Reidsville also could compete at those levels. Murphy( although great in their division )Mt Airy, ES, North Stanly just aren’t on that level to win big in those other classifications.
Personally I feel Boaz jersey number at UNC will be 80 something,70 something or 60 something.... (Tight end or O line).. Not, QB something.. Sorry just my opinion.
If you knew as much as you thought you knew, you would know that all of the power 5 schools are really recruiting him as a Tight End, but leaving the QB option open just in case they were to need it.
I threw the 80 something number in there. Sounds like a # for a Tight End to me.
