The article doesn't specify who was playing and I don't follow much football so I'm not sure about those details. The original headline is pretty misleading so I'm editing the post title.

I have friends that play in that. One of them was posting from up there about a half hour before the shooting.

Can't get in touch with him...don't have any more details than what is being reported.

I hope your friends are okay I can't believe someone would do this on Thanksgiving.

Just read about this. Is that like flag football? Just horrible news. How could rec type football escalate like that?

It is sad; it is a great community event each year and I guess the shooters knew their targets would be there and had no respect for innocent bystanders. That area of Louisville has little going for it right now. We all can do better.

Not really.

I beg to differ with you......when you have multiple victims (shoot out) in broad daylight with hundreds of people around............there have been several multiple victim shootings in Louisville in the last several weeks. Gang violence. A family member of one of the deceased said it was going to be Bloody Friday. Want to take bets?

Well I actually live in Louisville , I'm here every day and I can tell you that it's not a war zone or a very dangerous place. Do you live in Louisville? How much time do you spent here to come up with that assessment?

I have lived here almost all of my life. Evidently you haven't kept up with the news? These incidents were reported in the local news. We are more than likely going to set a new record for murders in the Metro area. I have a very close friend that works in law enforcement. (ATF) There is a gang problem in Metro Louisville. You might choose to not see the evidence but it is there.

Welp, if you feel the city you live in is a war zone and a very dangerous place you should get out of dodge quick. Me, I'm good. I'm comfortable and I feel safe. Also I'm not in a gang, nor are any of my friends, or anyone I associate with or know. My that's why I don't live in fear like you guys think I should.

Everybody knows Louisville sucks. Criminals all over the place. Just watch The First 48 on A&E. Downtown Louisville is full of drug trafficking and criminals.

What kind of hot dog are you? You disputed what is fact. Now you come back and say that you feel safe? You can keep your head buried in the sand. The facts are there. You are the first one to bring up fear. Anyone that doesn't respect the fact that this is a troubled city is living in a east end bubble. Because you or none of your friends are in a gang doesn't diminish the fact that we have a gang problem in the Metro area. I don't know anyone in a gang either......I am not ignorant enough to believe that means there isn't a gang problem. No one said you should live in fear. You are creating your own story line here.

Louisville is extremely safe. There are dangerous areas like any city. It's a lot safer statistically than most other places in the state.

Louisville is the highest murder city in Kentucky per the attached link. "
This should come as no big surprise considering Louisville led the US in murder the first part of 2015. That's right! We beat out New York, Detroit, Chicago, and the other previously crowned murder capitals of the US. We might have the Derby, but we have plenty of crimes that get buried under the mayor’s tourism propaganda. Our average is 49 crime victims per every 1000 people. There were 3,644 violent crimes reported.
