This was the throw to Jacobs who was extremely tightly covered. Shula's response: "not going to get into that".

Guess he's just protecting Sellers for making a terrible decision? Or is he pulling a Jon Hoke? I recall a reporter asked Hoke once about a certain defensive decision he made when he was co-DC here. Hoke responded that he'd let the reporter figure it out for himself.

I didn’t much care for the call but they may have been looking for a PI call; that defender had been pretty grabby all game. Pretty sure we would have been called.

I’ve been a big fan of Sellers but he has to be better. He locks in on one receiver and seems to stay with him or take off running. Theres been players wide open at times and he flat out doesn’t see them.

I saw on poster on X that we should look at hiring a QB coach instead of Shula filling that role.

This is the point where Mangus' name usually comes up :ROFLMAO:

Sellers has great physical tools but there is a reason he was not recruited by the top programs. That reason may be that he isn't very good at seeing the field.

When you take the snap and you immediately see as much if not more white than black uniforms that ‘progression’ crap goes straight out the window.

He does it when there‘s good protection
It messes with your head when you're pressured on almost every play.

It's too much to tell Sellers he has to be perfect on the scattered 20% of plays when he's not being pressured. QBs rely heavily on rhythm. When you're pressured on 8 out of 10 plays, you can't settle into any kind of rhythm and you likely end up rushing when you don't actually have to do b/c you just assume you're gonna get pressured.

We are dead last NATIONALLY in QB sack percentage. Last. Of all 136 teams that field a college football team, we are the worst at protecting the QB. Teams that do a better job of protecting the QB? Everyone else.

This brings up a scary prospect. If you were sellers, and this year didn't get you the draft grade you liked, would you be tempted to move to a team with a bit more respected O staff?

He'll have offers. I can't see him dropping out of the first 2 rounds unless he really regresses the rest of the way.

Look for him to do like Penn State's qb....hurt for remainder of the year. He & Nolan transfer leaving Woods as qb1 for 26

Pretty sure you can answer that given today's college football environment. Money and opportunity talks.

True. How much does loyalty weigh against that?
I really can't see him coming back unless his stock really falls. He's a consensus 1st rounder. I'm not sure I see it, but that's the speculation.

If his stock somehow did fall enough that he had to come back, I don't know what he'd do. I think he's very self aware and cares about his legacy in Columbia and in the state, so I don't see him transferring. But he can't love his prospects coming back to play for this offense and OL. Hiring a new OC means he'd be spending his last year under an OC trying to break in a new system. The best scenario for him would be to transfer somewhere where there is an established OC and offensive system. Just can't see him doing it, particularly with how vocal he was about shunning bids this offseason to stay here.

With how beating up he's getting, it would be hard to knock him if he did.

Same thing with the “why are we not throwing the deep ball” question! How deep can you get in 3 seconds?
