John has signed a summer league contract, and could be the missing piece to replace Kevin Love as a 3 point specialist! He most recently played in Turkey (!). He's still only 25 so he has probably one last shot at the NBA. Note that 5th year grad transfer Joey van Zegeren is a grown man at 24, and apparently killed it in his first pick-up game last Sunday (from 247):

"Joey van Zegeren, the 24-year-old graduate transfer from Virginia Tech, stole the show. Senior center Alex Olah said van Zegeren had about three tip slams and eight dunks total.

“That guy can jump out of the gym,” Olah said of the 6-foot-10 van Zegeren. "

Collins knows basketball talent. JVZ could be the most explosive athletic big at NU in the past 30 years if he dunked 8 times in a pickup game. Look out. Don't see Purdue's bigs allowing him to do that. I wonder if someone can find out who he was jumping over other than Olah.

My guess is that he jumped over Tap and Lump a couple of times. He is a similar body type to Olesheni who would abuse those two.

Drew Crawford will play for the Orlando Magic Summer League team. Crawford started all 50 games and was the 2nd leading scorer for the Erie Bayhawks, basically the Orlando Magic's minor league team in the NBA D-League.
