I love my Rockwell 6C safety razor. Currently using Feather blades -- got any blade recs?-safety razor + pack of razor blades=profit.
-plastic razors are for ladies. And they're turrible for the environment.
I use straight razors as well. Most are from the 1800s. I think Wade & Butcher made the best. If I'm in a hurry I use my Merkur 38c DE razor and Shark, Feather, and Parker blades. Astra's are good too but I'm out of those and will never need to buy more blades unless I live to be like 120.wildcatadam is the one that uses a GD straight razor. Isn't that correct? I like a close shave but no way I trust myself with one of those.
You might check with Stirling too. They make a really good DE razor if you can handle an aggressive cut. Stirling also has some decent soaps-I'm on the feather blades as well...had a merkur razor that I liked but it fell from the shelf one too many times. Picked up a cheap one a Marshall's...does a good job but gets easily clogged. Need to grab a new one...I'll check on rockwell.
The thing I really like about the Rockwell is you can adjust the "closeness" of the shave by using the different plates (it comes with three plates, and each side is a different setting).-I'm on the feather blades as well...had a merkur razor that I liked but it fell from the shelf one too many times. It is objectively hilarious and the right spirit. I like the idea of making a product instead of just bitching about someone else's politics, like 99.9999999999999% of the rest of humanity (or at least those on the internet) seem to do these days.3/4ths of the board will need to change their underwear after that ad.
Oh those bastards are indeed surgical lol. I have a barely discernable (about 2 mm diameter) flesh-colored mole on my cheek that I'd bet only sticks out 1/64", so we're not talking a John-Boy level lesion. On occasion after shaving with the closest plate and a Feather blade, after about 5-10 minutes a faint outline of blood will appear over the mole. I guess it takes that long because the layer of skin removed is so f#cking thin. Amazing really.I tried feather blades, but I must lack the fine motor skills to not lose a pint of blood with them. Those f**kers are ridiculously lethal.
Yeah absolutely zero chance I'll (a) personally ever use a straight razor, or (b) let anyone else ever use one on me.wildcatadam is the one that uses a GD straight razor. Isn't that correct? I like a close shave but no way I trust myself with one of those.

I had uncle named Herschel who taught me how to shave with a straight razor. He had one arm (lost it in Korea) so I figured if he could do it with one arm I could do it with two.Remind me not to piss you off BD![]()
All you have to do is rub a little soap on it and it won’t fog. I have a ****** ten year old “fogless” mirror that immediately fogs and that’s all I do.shaving in the shower cannot be beat. My problem is that I'll buy a fogless mirror, and it never seems to work. But you're right, it really IS the most comfortable/easiest shave you can have, if you can see what you're doing.
I use something called kiss my face. Just put a dollop in a bowl, hit it with the brush and it makes a nice lather. What shaving cream/lotion do you all use? I used to do Proraso but when I found Cremo sandalwood I converted. Love that stuff.

Do you have a built-in shower stool, or can you still bend down far enough to get your calf and ankle?Paging @wildcatadam6
I personally use a Gillette in the shower with a shower mirror. Pretty damn effective
Even with correct prep, rinsing in the shower is FAR superior to rinsing in the sink.If you prep correctly, then the sink shave is all you need and preferable.
I have shaved in the shower for maybe 30 yrs.....never had a mirror.....I shave by feel...........at this point it is muscle memory......Dollar Shave Club for me........I drilled the water saver out of the shower head.........we have a tankless water heater.......I take the opportunity to let the shower massage my old back and neck while shaving..................don't get in line behind me if you are in a hurry for a shower......shaving in the shower cannot be beat. If the shoe fits I'll call it like it is. If you don't like it, then I suggest you stop being a snowflake.Noticed that “grift” is a favorite word among a few of our liberal posters here.
Damn, did not think my simple observation would trigger the liberal bully backlash. If the shoe fits I'll call it like it is. If you don't like it, then I suggest you stop being a snowflake.
I will stick with my Harry's Razors and not succumb to another right-wing grift. Also I only use the razors on my neck as I keep a beard year round. Haven't stayed clean shaven in nearly 20 years. I like keeping the hairline/beardline and the back of the neck neat looking decent.
I bought a 12-pack of blade cartridges like two years ago and I haven't even used half of them yet.-congrats on wasting money and poisoning the environment.
- im telling you...safety razor is the play. Better shave...cheaper and no plastics.
