I don't know why Matt Jones keeps saying we beat UT with this lineup.
Butler played 22 min.
6/4/3/3.
The Texas game was the first that Robinson and Butler didn't play.

With 6 1/2 minutes left UT took the lead 58-55. This team (without Butler) proceeded to out score UT 20 to 6.

I don't love this quote:

"Timing wise and recovery wise, and there’s also a little bit of a guessing part, in terms of just the best medical treatment at the best time,” Pope said. “They’re both pretty serious injuries. The guys are desperate to play and they’re desperate to get healthy, short-term and long-term, and kind of balancing all those out with the calendar, not just for the season but for the summer and for next year. Trying to fit all those pieces together, and see day by day what kind of returns they get from new medical treatments.”

There's a few phrases in there that I kind of find peculiar. "Long term" and "for next year". Sure sounds like there might be some extra considerations being weighed for "beyond" UK.. and i get that, it's their future. But we really need them now. And if these injuries are kind of more along the lines of pain management, then we might have to make the call that says they're playing.. even if we still give them some games off leading to the tournament.

We need probably just 2 wins to have a safe-ish spot as a 6-seed or better.. and if we go into the tournament a little healthier this team could absolutely win an Elite 8 or more as a mid-seed. But that won't happen if we sit these guys the ROS and we lose out.

Yeah I realize that but it's a different game if he doesn't play at all.
Just making the point that this team minus Butler and Robinson is 0-1.

If we play this game like we played the last 5 minutes of the Texas game then we have no chance to win. If we just go play without the dumbass plays then we win easily.

Still a must win can't excuse your way to another loss tomorrow.
Hell yeah it is. Everyone deals with injury. It’s an excuse. The strength of this team was to be its guards and depth. There is more than enough to have success the rest of the way and vandy at home we lose that you will see pressure build on pope.

Brea has to get double digits, Noah and Perry need to give something and Oweh needs to be a little smarter about picking his spots
100%. Noah and perry need to take some pressure off the other scorers especially if they get hot as you suggest. I absolutely think that can happen. Will be fun to watch tonight!
Uk will win! Go Cats!

Put Oweh on him and if the other guards beat their matchup you live with it
I could make an entire thread on this but Oweh is surprisingly one of the worst defenders on the team. Really don't want him guarding Edwards. Playing Oweh on Johnson did not go well for us against Texas, he should have scored more than 32 but missed some wide open ones that Oweh let him have.

I just want to have everyone back and available for the NCAA. I’m sure we will at least split the last games and still get a decent seed.

I’d like to see Trent go crazy from 3. And Brea. And Almanor. And Perry. Let’s go boys. Get ‘er done.

Who else are you gonan put on him? Perry and brea can’t guard anybody, and Williams and Almanor are bigs

Noah would be the best on him honestly. But he is only going to play half the game.

I would rather put Brea, Williams, Carr, Almonor, mostly anyone else on him. Brea is not as good of an on ball defender as Oweh but is significantly better off ball than he is.

It also barely matters about who is initially guarding who in a possession anymore. 75% of defense is positioning off ball, helping and recovering, switching/not switching, tagging etc. Which is really the whole core of why Oweh is a negative on defense
