I will support a coach for a looooong time. But there’s 2 things you can’t do

1. You can’t make a mockery of UK basketball
2. You can’t talk down to the fanbase.

And I don’t think Pope has intentionally done that but in the past two weeks he’s unintentionally done so

He isn’t wrong. There was nothing about that game that showed we had any idea how to be a good team. First team to lose two games since 08 this early. SMFH.

first the recent wildcats support cal to arkansas, now the older guys turning on pope, this is getting bad quick, especially with recruiting being as bad as it is

Post game Jack givens had the most critical comments on a team i ever heard from the official broadcast group. It was alarming.

There is 100% an issue somewhere, no matter what he says. Either it's between several players or between the players and coaches. Either way, its obvious most of those guys simply don't care at the moment.

I thought the same thing sitting in the stands next to a michigan state fan. He was actually good to talk to. Said he coached for 40 years at the high school level in Michigan. Really nice guy.

But he seemed to agree and was in shock at how bad we were on both ends.

Adjustments can be made. Sometimes something as simple as moving one player up or down a position or benching one player in favor of another will do the trick. But it was very hard envision that sort of think happening with this team because it looked like all but 1 or 2 guys had no clue what they were doing.

At least he didn't say off the street. It actually is a funny comment and does draw a picture. What's not funny is we are Kentucky fans and saw this. Now playing the next game against a lousy team isn't going to reveal much most likely. What concerns me is Pope's recent comments defending Garrison and Otega. So what if they have great games against a losing team like Loyola? I want to see a strong disciplinary coach in charge not another Cal favoritism without any justification.

I really hope you're right. I just don't think these guys are all that good. Plain and simple. I think Pearl got it right. We spent starter money on backups.

Even against the bad teams, some of these things were still showing on film. You can’t fall into the trap of looking at the score and you can’t fall victim to the result of the play. If you watch, and no you don’t have to be a basketball savant, you will be able to see some of the issues. These tune-up games are more important than I’m seeing some give credit for. I’ll be, as always, watching the action closely and I hope everyone else does too. Issel is right — we’ve plain stunk. We need to get back to business, starting tonight.

IMO, spending starter money on backups sounds A LOT like he can't convince elite players to come here, and backup players are having to be begged to sign. Something that he's saying is driving players away, unless they just feel that him being Mormon will caused them to be judged.

Some people just aren’t salesmen. This was my concern from day 1. Why should we expect someone to do something that they’ve never been good at before?

Pope had some really good players at BYU that he recruited, Saunders and Kalifa. Wish both of them were at Kentucky, Saunders will be an NBA player, and Kalifa was a big reason BYU and Louisville beat us.

Could be as simple as we misjudged some talent. But it's our freaking RETURNERS that are causing the issues (minus Chandler)

1. Oweh- sucking
2. BG- sucking
3. Noah- Meh

Some of our new guys have actually been doing ok.

Saunders girl friend or wife didn't want to move, he came real close. And I really don't remember why Kalifa didn't, but it wasn't because of Pope.

Just stop. You still are going by bbnCal? No one is going to take you seriously. Calipari missed the tournament TWICE.

Give Mark some time for Christ’s sake.

Duke beat Kentucky by 30 something when Williamson was a freshman. Uh, honestly, it could have been by 50. Kentucky ended up having a good season. Let’s see how this season plays out.

That was a different kind of loss. At that point of the season Duke was clearly better and came out and punched us. I think it was first or second possession and Dakari got a rebound and Zion just took it away from him like he was a child. The team still gave effort.

UL nor Mich St are better than us. We just didn't show. That's what Issel and Mashburn are talking about.

Haven’t had time to change it after the merger even though I had it changed before. Been a bit busy.
