I’m only focused on Illinois. I did unfortunately catch the game in Providence. We don’t actually think Arkansas can make the elite 8, do we? Saint John’s could not have played any worse.

Regardless, it seems like both parties won. Whatever, I’ve accepted it. I’m not going to wish hate on Cal. Mixed feelings and cognitive dissonance here. Credit to DJ, I wish that finishing ability was here last year. Also, our haters saying that we lit a fire under Cal have no idea what they are talking about. And, Jeff Goodman still sucks. BBN forever.

Cal was given a gift to have even made the tournament. So, if we lit a fire under Cal, it sure took a long time for it to actually blaze.

Wagner had a couple nice drives but he was 4/16. Looked very familiar

He didn't score a lot but he had no problem getting them into their offense and any attempt to press was useless.
That’s what has surprised me the most . Him running the offense .

As far the OP I mean if you are in the sweet 16 it is definitely possible they make the elite 8. They have already overachieved no matter what the result is next week .

Arky can absolutely make the E8. Drake and their limitations on offense are the better matchup, but they can beat TTU as well. Tech shoots a TON of 3s, but they aren’t very good defensively. Arky is more physical and athletic than either team. I could see Tech giving them way more difficulty than Drake though. Beyond that, I think the Gators would absolutely roll them.

What difference does it matter?
Seriously? Saying St. John’s was simply cold makes it seems like Arkansas got incredibly lucky. Saying Arkansas forced missed shots says they earned the win. Those two arguments couldn’t be more different.

Just stating the truth. St John's probably plays way better against someone who wasn't Arkansas.
Need I remind you they are a 10 seed for a reason. Just because they have hit a bit of a hot streak doesn't mean they have become a defensive juggernaut. They are certainly not the first team that came into the tournament with low expectations and did well. However beating Kansas wasn't a big deal as poorly as they played during the regular season. As for St. John's, they picked the wrong time to shoot so poorly.

I just don't understand why it matters so much to you. I can assure you that none of their fans are worried about what some of their fans might say about Kentucky. It just seems odd that it bothers you so much. However, I don't believe they could repeat the performance if they played them again. They have good players; they just don't have a good coach who can scheme up good shots for them when things aren't going well.

Interesting take. If healthy, I take our roster due to sheer depth. Of course, that has changed.
Well, these rosters have different strengths. Obviously we shoot it better. But we’re nowhere near as athletic.

I thought both teams looked like dogshit and very beatable. Arkansas is good at mucking it up but close off the interior and they’re done.

I don't see a reason why Arkansas couldn't make the Elite 8, especially if they get Theiro back. This is what happens when you have a team full of upside and talent, they can make deep runs and even win it all. I'm not saying that they can win it all, but I guess anything can happen.

I think it was more St John's playing badly than Ark playing great. I thought both teams gave good effort on defense but were pretty terrible offensively. I doubt they beat TT and assuredly UF would kill em if they get there.

Some of you have not seen much of St. John's. I love Rick Pitino as a HC. He did a wonderful job with that group but they did win a lot of games in a poor season for the Big East. They often shot like they did today and Lappas correctly warned everyone that Arkansas would be in the game. Most of us were saying before the Tournament that Pitino was going to be the biggest Kansas fan because he didn't want to see Calipari for many reasons. Rick got outcoached today and Fland being back has helped Hogs but Billy Richmond's progress and minutes has been a game changer for them. Kid is a winning player.

Big East was not great like they've been recently and it's showing big time. Xavier wouldn't have won that Texas game if it wasn't a defacto home game-and they got bounced. They could actually shoot/score too. Marquette is bad. Creighton had Kalkbrenner and did the job of beating the Ville. UConn is extremely slow and unathletic and eyes showed how much faster/more athletic Oklahoma was-now you have same thing with better talent and more of them in Florida. Big East should be done by 1pm tomorrow afternoon--2pm if you go EST.
