lthere are two problems with this. First, this is NOT NIL, since a player's NIL value is set by the market against the 3rd party companies that want to purchase the NIL. In other words, if the player wants to negotiate their NIL value, then they need to approach the market of these companies. Second, the school cannot even get into the conversation, as the school itself cannot be involved at all with NIL$$$. I don't know how you want to characterize this but it is not NIL.

Well, a lot of schools are now just saying “**** that”. And the NIL agents are getting rich off these kids. 20% cut instead of the 4.5% for an NFL contract.

NIL agent will probably get $160,000 of Wong’s contract. And $200,000 of Addison’s.

These kids better be super, super, super stars next year, or my guess is that they will be pennyless in 5 or 10 years. Meanwhile, a middle of the road lineman that never made it to the NFL will have a college diploma along with a lifetime worth of earning potential.

Good for the players. Not good for me though. It changes the way I feel about the game but I certainly don’t blame them for getting what they can.

God love ya man……. I only have to pay for 1. Clearly you guys had your twins second because no one in their right mind has twins first then says “you know what, this was so much fun I want to do it again”. That’s like asking to be kicked in the roundies repeatedly….

Nope. Twins out of the gate. Premature on heart monitors and oxygen monitors for two months. Like cable boxes connected to them. So picking them up and putting them down was quite the feat. When the alarms went off they were as loud as smoke detectors.

Deion Sanders has an issue with the way money earned under the NCAA's new name, image, and likeness rules is causing some athletes to act.

The Jackson State football coach tagged the NCAA in a Twitter post Wednesday with a one-minute video explaining his position on the subject.

"When you start paying athletes like they're professionals, you get athletes acting like they're professionals," Sanders said. "And you don't have staffs large enough and equipped enough to handle a young man with money. Let me go deeper. Handle a young man that's making more money than some of the coaches on staff."

Since the horse has left the barn - and there's no going back at this point - the NCAA should recognized the athletes as professionals.
  • Classes / progress towards a degree are encouraged, but no longer required.
  • NIL payments run directly through the university athletic department. However the school chooses to raise those funds, through donors or otherwise, is up to them.
  • An annual salary cap is established so schools are playing on the same level. Raise funds in excess of the salary cap? Great. Use those funds to build NIL reserves or to invest in facilities.
  • Players sign contracts. Contracts would not limit players from transferring, but would require a "buyout" of that player from the school he/she transfers to. Maybe equal to the remaining salary of that player's NIL deal through the school.
As college football is now a professional league(s), then treat it as such.

NCAA could also have a 2nd tier amateur league for students who actually want to get a college degree, and also play sports while doing so.
