DR is frightened as hell to make an another mistake, which causes him to panic and miss so much. DR is a bit of a head case right now, and his body language sucks.

He's had 17 attempts all season. 7 incompletions.

He hasn't thrown enough this season to know imo.
Look, I’m ready to watch a different QB too because Raiola hasn’t gotten it done, BUT Heinrich struggles with those short touch passes. I was wishing they would let him run a series of RPO in the redzone. Raiola is too easy to defend in a short field.

we have a lot of problems on offense. DR is the least of them. Our oline sucks. Our rb’s are slow. Our wr’s can’t get open. And I’ve never seen a worse group of blocking wr’s. But we’re gonna blame the true freshman qb? This is why I said all along he should have never come here. This fanbase expecting a true freshman qb to be the hero was setup for failure from day one. You protect a true freshman qb. You don’t expect him to win games

I wouldn't say DR is the least of them.

Our O line other than one missed snap count was not the problem tonight. Still some lack of commitment to the run. Passing failures on early downs putting us behind the sticks. Defense’s inability to get off the field. Redzone play calling failures again…..

Dylan’s trust of the online isn’t based on their play today. He hasn’t been comfortable since the Illinois game. You can’t assess it on a game by game basis. It’s been a season long issue.

Bottom line: do you think Dylan is the problem with offense this year? And if so, is it a true freshman issue or a talent issue? I can’t believe any objective person can think DR is a bust based on this year. I think his performance, all things considered has been very good. People just refuse to understand that true frosh qb’s rarely (never) set the world on fire on bad teams.

Not talking about today. I’m talking about the year. You’re happy with our run game this year?
I’m in a better spot with it tonight. Satt’s play calling and run design often sucked. It’s a new day and I was encouraged by some of the stuff Dana put in with 8 practices.

It’s difficult to say he’s not a part of the problem. I think he’s going to be a very good college QB but right now he’s not. Right now he throws a pretty ball. That’s about it.

I think he needs to drop about 10-15lbs, work on his speed because he’s gonna NEED to run at this level and if he wants be good at next level

Do you think that an offense asking a true freshman to make every read and throw the correct pass every time is an issue? Generally, true freshmen are protected and given easy reads and a strong run game. I’ve never seen a true freshman qb asked to do what dr has been asked and be successful. Have you? I keep asking someone to name a true freshman qb asked to do what we are asking Dr to do and be successful. No one has answered me.

I’ve said for weeks that Satt was throwing him to the wolves with his play calling. That said, I didn’t see anything tonight that was out of the realm of something he should be able to handle. The play design and calling was better today. The redzone efficiency was not. That’s largely on your QB. It’s why I was hoping to see Haarberg come in on the one series to run RPOs. The problem in a condensed area is the athletes USC has in their back 7.

Name a true freshman qb asked to go out and win games with a poor surrounding cast. I’ll continue to ask this question. No one will answer because we all know deep down we’re being incredibly unfair to a true freshman qb.

He’s actually been protected pretty well when he doesn’t hold the ball too long. I understand your point though. He’s gun shy and beaten up. It’s just what I expected out of a freshman QB who isn’t a legitimate run threat. Most of the NFL has gone to QBs who are effective runners. We’ve gone full blown pro-style which we always loooooved to play against.

Our playing has been downright abusive to DR’s development. We go air-Nebraska with wr’s that can’t get open and can’t block on the perimeter. We’ve asked a true freshman to read college defenses he’s never seen, make check down reads and audibles knowing full well he has a poor supporting cast. We can point to his mistakes all we want but the real problem is we are asking way more of a true freshman than he should ever be asked.

DJ Lagway? I have no idea what the Gators talent is like though, but didn't they lose a bunch of dudes from last year?

Earlier this season yes. Now? Today? No. I get that the PTSD is cumulative.

Florida has the same record as us. He hasn’t been the starter all year. I can’t speak for their talent but I can’t see the major difference between DJ and DR

So DR is a bust and overhyped? Case closed. He’s not the answer. Time to move on?

I’m trying to understand everyone’s point because the kid leads the nation in passing yards for a true freshman playing for a ****** team but yet we want to pin our team failure on him. I personally think our expectation of a true freshman is too high and DR will be great given time. Do you disagree?

I've never watched him play, but he did just beat LSU. I know LSU is overrated, but still a solid win.

Florida schedule is pretty tough. Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Miami, Texas A&M. Ole Miss coming up.

No. I said I believe he’s going to be a very good college QB but he isn’t very good right now. Blame that on inexperience or Satt or both.

Yards don’t equal points. We throw it a ton so he better have yards. That said most teams with a freshman QB don’t throw it this much. We shouldn’t either.

Many here have declared him a bust. I agree he isn’t doing great now but I think that is 90 percent what we are asking of him. He can make throws. He struggles when we ask him to hang in against a blitz and throw to second and third options. A good coordinator and team would take pressure off their true freshman qb. Not make plays for them

I’ve screamed all year that we need to commit to the run game to help him. We can’t give up if we get stuffed a time or two. Honestly I think we might be better playing Haarberg right now because of his run threat. I BELIEVE that Rhule might be playing the long game though thinking Raiola will be better next year for having gone through the battles this year. Fair or not, he’s going to get criticized for his play. Nobody cares that he’s a freshman.
