"Crushed" is a pretty accurate description since Illinois was playing rugby and Iowa was playing basketball. How is it, do you suppose, that Iowa tied #1 Florida on the boards, the defending national champions and the leading rebounding team in the country (+15 per game)--and that includes Illinois--yet couldn't come close to that yesterday? Did Iowa suddenly forget how to box out and jump? LOL

Iowa was being manhandled all night long in ways that are patently prohibited by the rules of basketball. Fighting for your life all night drains you, and that really impacts your jump shot. So again, with Illinois playing rugby and Iowa playing basketball, it wasn't exactly a fair fight. And yet that's all we wanted. Just call the game the same on both ends, and let's see who wins. But no, Iowa can't get that, not even in an Elite Eight game.
Yes the refs. Which when one teams is much stronger. It looks that way

Illinois Basketball is the number one sports program on their campus, by far. Iowa Basketball is arguably fourth on the Iowa campus. Hopefully that’s changing with addition of Ben. Iowa needs to spend the money Illinois does for their basketball program and Iowa will be fine.
Hopefully bball will be equal to fball eyeball wise next season, if not surpass it, depending on the season results. We need something similar coach wise on the football side. It's been time for a while now, no disrespect.

The score was cliser than the game.

Yes but by hitting shots, not winning the boards. Several if the Hawks were bullied

Get over it. Re watch the game without knowing the score. IL had more O rebounds that Iowa had total. That is a drubbing.
First of all, fix the O on your keyboard.

So, Iowa shooting really well doesn’t count?

To say that a 12-point win by Illinois did not indicate how much of a blowout the game was is an asinine comment. That makes it sound like they had a 20 point lead for much of the game and then let up at the end. There were 13 lead changes in the second half, and Illinois didn’t have more than a five point lead until the under four minute time out of the second half. GMAFB!
