There is no NLI anymore. Scholarship papers and/or financial aid paperwork have now supplanted NLIs. Someone else will have to detail any substantive differences between the two documents.

It was a subtle reference how the letters are the exact same and are financial agreements between the two parties. If you watch the Gilbert arenas podcast with Rashad McCants they talk about this is in an episode. I believe it’s just LOI now though.

I understood the subtlety that you were going for but, it was unclear whether you understood the NLI was no longer the document. It is also not called an LOI now. The term most often used is scholarship agreement and the overall goal was to simplify and standardize the paperwork and give prospective student athletes more flexibility with respect to some of the more onerous provisions of the former NLI.

You’re correct it’s not called LOI but it embodies everything a LOI used to have but yes you are right.

They were supposed to have a great year….
Expectations were high. Had a lot of returning starters on both sides of the ball. But still had to fill in some key spots from the previous year. Quarterback was a first year starter, had 4 new defensive lineman as well. Unfortunately the Indians were not able to be consistent.

Go back and look at the Manchester and Huguenot games. Powhatan is winning at halftime vs. Huguenot. Powhatan had the ball and was driving to score and win the game late against Manchester. Still a good team. Finished with a winning record. Held Dinwiddie to 28 points in the 1st round. Talent around the field on both sides of the ball. Lots to be proud of.

We are looking forward to seeing Matt play at the next level. Huge accomplishment for him.
