Arch Diocese moved up the placement exam to this Saturday. Not sure why the change after being the second Saturday in January forever.

Think i read it was to assist with the timetable for families after the test. By testing a month earlier, you get results/acceptance a month earlier, apply for and receive financial aid award letter (if any) a month earlier and then have that extra month to plan financially and or look into other options if need be (public or a different private that's willing to take transferred test scores).

Actually, it’s so results would come back and “financial assistance” could be discussed before public schools start their incoming freshman registration. Most public schools register incoming freshman by the end of January.
They put the pressure on families by telling them they have to register by a certain date (usually before their public school registers) to get the financial assistance money.
Stay classy San Diego.

Some of them have smartly required the first nonrefundable tuition payment due in March.

There is no way an incoming freshman, even with this month earlier test date is going to have a financial aid answer before the end of January.

For the ones that we are discussing about on this board, I’m sure the ol’ ball coach will have a financial package available soon after they take the test. Maybe not for the common/normal students, but the stud athletes will get theirs first.
