This season has been pretty good, I didn't know if they could keep it up. The gold chain chatter last week was great.

I giggle every day I drive by one of these signs.

All the characters are funny together and separately, and the dialogue is great. And while I have no connection to Silicon Valley or the tech sector, from what I've read, they also do a great job of parodying the very real culture there.

However, I read somewhere recently and agree that it seems to be going down the same path as Entourage, where nothing really moves forward. It's always one step forward and one step back. It seems like every episode ends with a new "oh no, now what?" moment.

A thread labeled "Silicone Valley" and not a mention nor photo of cleavage? smh. @TheRedSon

I'm liking this season better than previous. The characters aren't as irritating as I remember them and, to me, the story about losing control of your company even before it is a "real" company is more relatable than the earlier software development story.

Thats a good point though it doesn't wear on me yet. I think they can keep getting by with that for a while longer. As an IT guy the characters kill me, they aren't that far off from reality. Timeslot is great, its like a dessert after a G.O.T. steak meal.

I was in a team meeting yesterday and someone actually said "Maybe we should do a S.W.O.T. analysis" and I lost it.. Thankfully one other guy in the meeting knew what I talking about. Everyone else thought I was an a-hole.

Silicon Valley and Veep are both great followed by John Oliver.

Sunday night TV sucks right now except for those three shows.

Somewhere I read that they actually have a tech company that they consult with for the show and it it is very accurate to real life.

I just caught up on this show, I love it.

"Hey Danesh, nice chain, do you use it to choke your mom while you ---- her in the butt?

That off the wall comment from goofy *** Jared had me rolling.

One of the funniest scenes ever:

How many takes do you think that took to film? There's probably an hour of outtakes on that scene from them not being able to keep their **** together.

The dick algorithm scene is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Love the show.

"Playback on other websites has been disabled by the video owner."

"Watch this video on YouTube."

The message I get on my phone when I ask to see the posted video is just an example of the pompous, egotistical and ridiculous ******** that pervades the wonderful world of IT.

True, one more click and I see the video, but was it reeeeeaaaly necessary? Whose life became better because I did so? No doubt, the advertising department.

I, too, have read that the show "hits home" with IT people because it's so "real." If so, no wonder so many people cringe when they turn on their computers.

I was thinking that as well (Big Head violating the Severance Agreement), but he's only one of dozens and dozens of people who were formally with Hooli who could have sourced that story. She (the journalist) is not going to tell and give up her source.

The thing with Belson ****-canning the entire staff of nucleus, only to see many of them flee to a rival, only to have Belson acquire that company is something I know happened with a tech company in the DC area. Belson of course being so clueless that he had no idea the people he addressed in that room welcoming them to the Hooli family, had just been kicked in the balls by him a few weeks earlier.

I know of another situation where I had a Buddy get laid off from a tech company (along with an entire division), only to basically be re-hired a month later as a "consultant." He actually received a much better compensation package than he was receiving before and before another two months was up, about 80% of those former employees were also signed up as "free lancers." He went from heartbroken and very concerned about losing his "job" to realizing he fell into a pile of you know what and came out smelling like roses.

That last bit could have happened to me if I wanted. Got laid off from a company and then was approached for a contract spot by them shortly after, which would have paid better. Hated the company though so no way. We had a lot of guys that would get laid off, come back, get let go, then pop up again.
