Michigan, Nebraska,Maryland and Ohio State in a 7 day span is tough. Get some rest, get ready for the dance
They will play a team better than Ohio State in the opening round. Probably in that 8/9 seed range which means either way they will face a toss-up game. Hopefully they play better than they did today or it will be over fairly quickly.

When you put it this way, it makes the dead legs at the start of the second half make sense.
I know, I know...yet a win today doesn't do much to seeding, if anything moves from a 9 to an 8 and you ain't beating a well rested Mich tomorrow unless they are resting starters which doesn't happen much in college bball.
After hearing injury news, I'd rather be the 8/9 seed in Duke's bracket. Still difficult, but it's our best chance at a Sweet 16.

He can score as much as he wants. Without two key pieces, they are infinitely more beatable for us than any other 1 or 2 seed. It's a **** sandwich no matter what, but gimme a chaser, and maybe I choke it down.
I just don’t see Iowa falling to a 10. Not based on those teams competing with them. They may be locked into 8/9.
I think Iowa is tough to guard the first time a team plays them as well as their defense is a challenge. People want to say their offense is all ball screens for Stirtz, but there is a lot more to it than that.
Boozer would surely be a tough cover. So would Dybantsa. He impressed me after watching him play. The moves, the speed, the shooting, and the swag. Go to Sac please, AJ!
100% - it is nice to get out of B10 play, where teams essentially 1-12 are in a dogfight week after week over 4 months -- now you get to play a team that has a scout on you but they haven't seen it live. I feel good about the 8/9 game but maybe you talked me into knocking out Duke if we make it that far. Plus there is 1990s payback for that team and the whole Hurley clan can go pound sand...
They'll play a team very equal to OSU. All about matchups and team strengths. With having an actual defense at Iowa now. I like our 1st round chances.
I agree. We play defense. We should have the best player on the floor. And that player is a PG. A legit pg is what many clamored for during the Fran years. I'm just happy to be in the dance in Ben's first year.

why do want a 10 seed which I think plays a 7 seed when if you are an 8 seed you play a 9?
Correct about me whining about the former PG Fran McC not being able to ever bring in a really top PG. Maybe Fran figured it was too much work to bring in a one and done off to the NBA talent.
When Stirtz sees a lane to the bucket he can really zoom , fun to watch. Maybe next year we will have two or 3 guys who can really penetrate
Because after first round game if you win you play the 2 seed where as a 8or 9 you play the one seed easier to beat a 2 then a1

If they do, that's my first choice to be in a pod with if Hawks are as expected - placed in an 8/9 game.
Florida probably is taking the last 1 seed over UConn.
I would agree since Florida's NET is 5 places above UCONN's and isn't the SEC tougher than the Big East this year? Also, UCONN has that Quad 3 loss.

We only played them once so far and they played bad compared to how they have 95% of this season. I would rather play UCONN or Florida to be honest, that is kind of a nice novelty of the tourney is you get to play teams you don't play often or at all...

No worries its been a long, up and down season. From almost beating ISU and Michigan to losing to Penn State, this team has been something else. I still am very grateful that we should/will make the NCAA tournament in Ben's first year though!!!You're right. I don't know what I was thinking.

To me it doesn't matter. There's plenty of 2 seeds that on a given day can beat the 1 seeds, and several of these 1s are starting to fade a bit.
Duke is having injury problems, Michigan is looking mortal at the wrong time of the year for everyone saying, "Aww well NOW they're really gonna turn it on and be the team everyone thinks can win the National Championship l".....not how that works.
UConn is fading. Florida and Arizona are probably the most consistent teams right now and even they can be got on the right night.
This is why I think we'll most likely get paired with either Arizona or Florida because we can't have nice things meaning we have to play one of the highest seeds when they're playing at their best............
All that is true yet assuming we beat the 8 seed in the first round...just give me a Friday game so I can at least enjoy 1 full day of the tournament!
Thought you were going to say we won't have to watch the BIG Network. I know I won't. That network has really declined.
Yeah, I’d be interested in that. Going to try to catch their other game(s) this weekend, but based on today I wasn’t impressed with their guard play. Much weaker than I expected.
