Scott Front's blind loyalty to Adrien Martinez as his starter is reminiscent of FSU's Bobby Bowden blind loyalty to Chris Rix in the early 2000's as his starter no matter how garbage he was.

I thought the defense played well. At least good enough for us to win.

And like everyone else I think 2AMs play was not good. Like I explained to my buddy (who didn’t watch the game) we had 2nd and 6 from their 20 in the first half, Martinez then proceeds to throw 2 uncatchable balls in a row on 2nd and 3rd down that the defense doesn’t even really need to defend. We settle for a field goal.

To me that’s the problem, we need a guy running the offense that can keep the chains moving.

Yep. D played definitely enough to win

Luke threw an INT today inside the 10.

Luke threw a bad pass. It hit one our own's helmet and popped into the air. **** happens. Now, let's start him and give him some reps so that he'll improve his game.

I dont believe its a no brainer. I saw poor play from luke and good play from Martinez.
Then again I saw good play from
luke and poor play from martinez.

The silver lining to me is our D Line and defense overall.

We need to see what Luke can do starting a game not relieving 2AM mess..

Reminds me of when a change was made to Crouch back in the day. I hope the situations mirror themselves.
Reminds me of 1981 when we started off 0-2 against Iowa and Penn State with marginal QB play. Then we decided to start a young QB by the name of Turner Gill. And are fortunes began to change.

I don’t have the stats in front of me but the majority of the yards that we’ve had this year has come from when Luke was involved. He makes good things happen. Is he a great thrower or has good mechanics? No, but he gets the ball rolling. We need that. Martinez is a drive killer. Very bad decision maker and is lazer focused on his tight ends only.

That team had way better talent compared to 2020’s version.

AMart has a better arm. Not as much speed but he is bigger and stronger.

The problem isn’t just the qb, the team and coaches as a whole have no situational awareness.

throwing a 5 yard pass on 3rd and long, not running out of bounds as times running down, walk on wr’s in on most obvious passing downs, and dangerous passes inside the 10 tell me it’s systematic, at least to a degree.

Reimer was good.
Mills doesnt get enough credit. When OL does its job, he runs pretty hard.
Some other decent things on defense: Farmer’s 2nd INT especially.

I want to win games. I want Scott Frost to want to win games. So, if Luke can move the chains and Amart cannot, who cares about arm strength.

TO would play the QB that would win the game. I don't know what is wrong with Amart. I'm not the head coach. Reminds you of Newcombe/Crouch. Sometimes you have to go with guy who wins games. Team first.

I'm pro Luke starting, but Luke had chances to win or tie the game too and ****** them up. That INT was an unreal bad throw.

Luke had three drives to try and tie the game. The first one he fumbled the handoff, got sacked and ended up going 15 yards backwards and punting. Second drive was really good, but ended with a terrible pick on the 2. 3rd drive was ok but ended up short. Meh he was ok

If there is any good that can come out of this wretched game it is that Luke will become our starting QB. Even Frost cannot be so blind as to not see this. Or can he?
The offense came to life with LM in there. He hit a variety of receivers and ran with authority .

Give him all the snaps and practice this week and ride him rest of the way. I think Frost is desperate for some wins and is afraid to give younger guys their shot.

This may make for a turbulent year, but it's obvious that it's time to move on from 2AM. Seems like a great kid, but just isn't able to carry the mantle.

I hear ya. But I would still want to keep Amart as a backup. He'll get his chance again. Maybe he'll take advantage of that chance. Until then, let's give Luke his shot.

A Mart can be flushed down the toilet as far as I’m concerned

smothers should be backup. Amart can run for office.

Are we going to act as if Frost would be anything other than a poor OC if he had another QB besides AMart?

And let’s not forget the “talent” Scott Fraud has surrounded Martinez with. Who woulda thunk Kade Warner, Wyatt Liewer, and Levi Falk couldn’t get open against Big Ten defenses?

I think Ethan Piper is gonna be a stud. Biased, because I know his folks, who are great people!

Agree. Hell, maybe Masker gets his chance and set the world on fire. He's a bigger kid and supposedly has a strong arm. Probably not great in the running game.
