I have my playoff bracket projections up now, along with all the other stuff I always do - power rankings, scoreboard, game predictions, consecutive streaks.

Due to family obligations this weekend, I will be tied up and not be very available to answer questions about the brackets this year. I will make some adjustments to them tonight once games are played. The current brackets are based on my game predictions for tonight, but some are bound to be wrong. I also need some tiebreaker info in certain conferences and am just making my best guess. This is a new system once again this year, so I hope I am doing things correctly. If you see an error, please let me know. Thanks

Thanks. I think our team improved for sure with the change at Qb. Our basketball team should be much improved with the experience they gained last year

Good luck to all the SMC teams that made the playoffs even though they are a few posters on here that has made it hard to say that this year. You have a couple from each school that thumps their chest so much it would be easy to say the opposite but as I always have I will support the SMC LOL I might even make the trip to the Championship game if we have a team playing

That's a strong team! I don't know how MaxPreps has them rated so low. The Comets will absolutely destroy Granville Central in the second round and will be super geeked to face Tarboro.

At least 4 of the lower seeds in your 1A and 1AA projections have lost a game this week that was not included in the Adjusted Max Prep ratings put out by the NCHSAA. I believe another one plays tonight and is a heavy underdog. It seems likely that much will change in the ratings before brackets are finalized on Saturday.

After looking through - why do you have Swain seeded ahead of Cherryville when Cherry finished higher in adjusted rankings?

I have no idea - thanks for pointing that out - fixed now. I was putting 1A/1AA together in a hurry - that's the best excuse I've got. :)

If north goes down as 5 seed after destroying everyone in there conference then this is a very disappointing job by the our state officials

There are already so many caveats and exceptions in place it it out of whack. Thank God we do not have the pod system still but that would have put North at home. If North rolls down east and makes it to the title game I doubt anyone will care but those last two games will be hauls. If North plays at Tarboro I will most likely make the drive from Charlotte.

Yeah that’s along ways for a team to travel. I feel bad for the kids who have worked there butt off to be rewarded for winning conference and not getting 1st bye, play in conference rivals. If they win that having to travel 2 1/2 hrs on the big cheese bus. Messed up. But hey I’m just a fan and will travel to watch the comets play.
