If rated against pre-season expectations, Derek gets the best grade in the roster. He certainly brings dimensions (can break down defender, can create his shot) otherwise absent.I think he continues to grow.

He can create his own shot , the next step for him is to make more of them.
Simpson has performed exactly the same as you would expect a mid 3 star freshman to perform. We’ll find out who he is next year.

Hopefully he has a good game today against a slow Wisconsin team. Should be the fastest person on the court by a decent margin when he’s playing.

How good he will be is to be determined, but he has potential
He has been making a higher percentage of shots (and he needed to) in the last few games. Hopefully he keeps improving ans the season progresses and I suspect he will.
His elbow pull-up and mid range jumper is looking really good the last few games. And his drive by keeps his defender really off balance. I really like that part of his game right now.
He needs a consistent 3 and when he blows by he needs to develop the smarts and bag for what happens next. Too many charges , and getting caught going into a big at the moment.
For me Mag exceeded expectations on offensive side. By quite a bit. I do like Simpson.

He is definitely improving and making big contributions. I’m looking forward to watching his growth and development in the upcoming years at RU
Simpson is getting better, game may be slowing down for him. He brings quickness like no other player and helps create spacing on the floor. He just needs to be a gym rat this off season and work on his shot. Once he achieves some consistency, he will be tough for coach to pull him from games.
Right after the buzzer Simpson went right over to Paul and the two walked off arm in arm with Mulcahy doing all the talking. Can't see Simpsons face so not sure his reaction. Would love to know what that conversation was about!
Paul is a mentor to younger players. Part of the good Paul.
Kid has improved. Needs to put on 12 pounds of muscle in the off season and work on his 3-point shot.
Kid is going to be really good in another year or two in my opinion. Explosive, athletic, nice touch from mid range, can really elevate to get his shot off. As he gets a little stronger he’ll go to the rim with more authority. Good on the ball defender but needs to grow into being better off of the ball. I think this kid was a find.
Should spend the off season making sure he takes a practice shot every time Spencer does.
