Might be a great place to hold a high school championship.

Would be cool but I don't see the IHSA ever hosting on grass fields if they don't have to. Eight games on a grass field over two days in snow or rain would be a disaster. Really wouldn't be fair to the 7a/8a schools.

Not that I would not like to see the state finals at the former Cell, Solider Field or Northwestern, One of the things that the IHSA asks for when the solicit bids to host the state finals is that the field has a synthetic surface.

Went to the Toledo/NIU game at "the Guarantee" yesterday and while I enjoyed the experience very much, the view of the field for watching the game was not great. Sat in the Home Plate Skybox and when the teams were at the right field side of the field, had to really watch the large screen in center to see what was taking place. So besides the turf issue, I think a standard football facility like DeKalb or Champaign is just better for viewing purposes.

maybe if they build a Comiskey 3 - keep the west grandstands and have a smaller football-only synthetic turf field (keep as VIP - RV tailgate during White Sox season).

I remember the turf infield, I also remember McCuddy's, barely.,.
I loved McCuddy's. They were royally screwed by Governor Thompson. They were supposed to be able to buy land to rebuild when old Comiskey was leveled, but it never happened. Earlier, their season ticket seats were downgraded in favor of Ron Santo. What a kick in the ***.

I think a bigger kick in the *** would be to move the white sux to a city that will actually support them, as opposed to bitching like women and saying they won't support a loser.

Oh wait... sox fans don't ACTUALLY attend the games.. they only exist in a fantasy world that suggests they are superior fans of a superior team even though the team sucks and they have no intention of going to the G-spot to see a game.

I like both teams and never understood the animosity between their fans. Always want Chicago teams to win whatever the sport played. One son is a Sox fan and the other is a Cub fan but both root for the other team when not playing each other.
