My entire goal was to see Memphis out in the first round. They spent several million ( or FedEx did)to see a flame out quickly. Not great value for those sums of money. And they continue to pay Penny as if he could coach like Coach “K”😂
A couple more years of stealing players from Conference America and not making it, or exiting early, and they will finally start clamoring for him to be canned. He'll coast on his name for about 10 or 11 years. I figure he gets canned in 2027 or '28. Wonder what Tubby would have done with 10 or 11 years of latitude. Job thief Penny should be his nickname. Stealing pennies from Tubby would be my nickname if I joined the Memphis board. If he steals Smikle from us I might hire a $5 hit on him.

He will buy a 6’10” graduate for Cisse’s position. Haggerty will probably have his agent shop around. Smikle has a long way to go to be a dominant player. I would like him for his Junior and Senior years. Hopefully we are not just prepping him to go elsewhere for those two years. If he leaves this year he has made a mistake.

My definition of Cinderella is a little broader than yours. I consider a Cinderella a 7-16 seed that can't be in the P5 leagues or the Big East. Of course I make an exception for Gonzaga cuz they made their own P5 one team league. Memphis has flirted with that status as well. So would have UConn, but we(TU) held them back, thus they never did anything in the American. I considered our final 8 team to be a Cinderella.
For me Cinderella is any non-P5 or Big East team that keeps winning in spite of the media pundits and questionable "officiating" that seems to slant the direction of the chosen ones and any of the other a-holes behind the scenes that just can't get past the big conference entitlement.

He'll take his sophomore leap this year. I think you are under-anticipating the value of catching him before his sophomore leap happens with the high rollers.

Only one Cinderella(in my book) left. Colorado St ALMOST made it past Maryland. Now it's just New Mexico fighting against our favorite Spartans.

iT'S REALLY SAD THAT 1 OR NONE WILL MAKE IT TO THE SWEET 16.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED P5 CABAL. FREE TRANSFERS AND NIL HAVE SEEMINGLY QUASHED THE CINDERELLA's FROM BEING HEAVILY INVOLVED OR INVOLVED AT ALL.

This was a great game to watch. That Queen kid from Maryland might be a top 5 NBA pick after the season he had. That shot was something else too. And not to take anything away from Colorado State...great play drawn up by the coach to get Lake that look from 3....that kid had ice in his veins on that shot. I'm glad that game came down to players making plays and not a player making an error. Nothing the Colorado St player could do in defending Queen...he absolutely defended him well without fouling. Kid made a great shot.

Which means that my bracket will go up in flames this week. Never, and I do mean never, have I had a bracket survive past the second weekend. At this point I fully expect BYU to go American Primeval on Alabama and Ole Miss beat MSU due completely to my overlooking that Chris Beard was the current head coach at Ole Miss. If those things happen it's back to reality, and that reality of unregulated $$$ and open transfers absolutely sucks!

And Calipari takes a dump in the tournament. Hope Pig is happy.
When will Calipari realize that FTs matter. Cost him a national championship at Memphis and likely cost him at least a chance at one this year with Piggy. The team he had this year was a little reminiscent of the Memphis team that crashed and burned in the last 10 minutes at Memphis.

When they put up the graphic that said Calipari’s NCAA tournament record when leading by 6 points or more was 35-0 , I just knew we had found the announcers jinx. Him not going to the FAU kid for the last two shots was a big error. Final four experience. …………..

That was a heck of a game though, first OT of the tournament. Helped me climb up to 11th in the challenge.

Houston's inbounds play to win the game yesterday was brilliant. Wonder if that was Kelvin or if someone else drew that one up.

It's the beginning of the end now that Florida killed my bracket, by taking down the Red Raiders...

They didn’t kill your bracket!!! Geez. Your final two are still in. That said how the hell does Texas tech blow a 10 point lead like that after killing these guys all game long lol.

Also you missed 6 games the whole tournament, no one here is feeling your pain lol

Your right... Absolutely no idea how TT pulled that off, it certainly wasn't because of anything Florida did exceedingly well down the stretch. I was hoping for a finish in the top 1K brackets on ESPN and would have had to been perfect till the end. Only time in my life to have this clean of a bracket and it's made basketball and the tournament a helluva a lot more fun following the season, that was anything but for me as a Tulsa fan.
