How do I get rid of these things? Damn, getting old sucks. I stop growing (head) hair, but I can grow additional skin surface area?

No, they’re not tumors. Just plain old skin tags. Lots of things on Amazon but they all have mixed reviews.

I’m too big of a poussée to cut them off, by the way. I think that wouldn’t permanently get rid of them anyway.

One time I hit my thumb with a grinding wheel, it wasnt bad didnt even bleed that much just took a few layers of skin off, but when it healed what came back was almost like a wort I guess but flat. Just dry rough skin that I would peel off then it would grow back again. Anyway we got some dry ice for the kids to mess around with one day and i burned it off with that. It hurt a bit and scabed over but when it healed it was completey back to normal skin.

There is skin tag removal stuff you just put on it until it dries out and falls off. I've used that before on one I had on my arm pit that got bothersome.

Tie it off tight with thread or dental floss. It will die off in 24 hours or so.

Skin tags are often precursors for diabetes. Hate to be the bearer of bad news. Might want to watch what you eat and drink more closely.
Lots of people have skin tags and never have diabetes. I've had skin tags on my armpits for basically my entire adult life (I'm 36) and still have a good A1C per my lab results for my annual physical earlier this year. And that A1C was taken with the Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas sweet feasts taken into account. I mean I still try to limit my carb intake though as I'm am fat and trying to lose weight.

They are commonly found on fat people because they generally pop up in areas where skin rubs against skin the most - like eyelids, neck, armpits, and groin.

Got a treble hook stuck in a finger past the barb when I was a kid. My dad yanked it out with his needle nose pliers. When it healed, it left a wart like hump that has been there ever since.

Getting old sucks, especially when you have to watch how you get in and out of a chair or vehicle so you don't squash your balls, not to mention being careful if you're taking a dump on a toilet that's not a high riser.

Had a few on my neck and shoulders. The wearing of certain shirts would irritate one on my neck. Had them and several moles removed by a dermatologist. The procedure was covered by Medicare.

From what I read, they seem to happen where skin is constantly rubbing against skin—but your shirt comment makes sense based on the friction deal.

I’ve got on in my armpit and it’s gross as hell. Hurts when walking. Wife got some Compound W. Supposedly it works wonders.

Bourbon, block of ice, a pair of toenail clippers. In that order. Drink the bourbon, hold the block off ice on the skin tag, clip it at the base, once the ice has numbed it.

I usually just tear mine off. No real pain, worst part is stopping the bleeding.

You don't have to be old to have them, and it doesn't mean you're a diabetic, or pre-diabetic.

I tried on one. I don't reccomend it. It really just left it super irritated and didn't kill it off. I finished the job with an exacto knife, and I reccomend the same to others. My only caution is to be prepared for some bleeding from the site afterwards with, like, a beach towel and a bucket.

Studies have shown that there is an increased risk of diabetes if you have skin tags.. That doesn't mean that if you have skin tags that you are destined to be a diabetic. It's just a higher likelihood.

OP, I hope you find the following helpful. It's what I could come up with on short notice.

  • Buy some lab rats. Or maybe lab mice if there are such things.
  • Become friends with a local dermatologist, or better yet, an entire dermatological practice. Preferably in an area with a high percentage of overweight/obese people (more skin tags).
  • Create a cover story such that the dermatologists agree to provide your faux biosciences company with all skin tags they remove from patients.
  • Gradually replace the diet of your rats or mice with the discarded skin tags, until it's 100% skin tags.
  • Don't feed the rats/mice for a few days.
  • When ready to have yours removed, strap yourself to table, and press the release button for the rat/mice cage that's next to your table.
  • Assuming the rats/mice have been properly adapted, they will only remove your skin tags and leave you otherwise unscathed (physically).
  • Assuming you have not suffered debilitating psychological trauma, you can then digitally market your skin tag removal system as natural, sustainable, and eco-friendly. Gwyneth Paltrow will probably be an early adopter.
  • Profit!
  • Launder said profits through a web of shell companies in the Caymans, Cyprus, the Isle of Man, and Mauritius.
  • Enjoy life as an international criminal overlord. Women will find you attractive given your mystique, shady past, and the fact that you're free of skin tags. And also because you probably now own a yacht.

If I had my tools with me I'd chisel them off for you. Maybe take a crowbar and smash them up then burn them off with a wielding torch. Or just use vice grips and rip them off 2 or 3 at a time.

Don't listen to any of these idiots telling you to cut them off. Maybe if this was 1875, but nowadays there are much better methods.

Get a skin tag removal kit from Amazon. They're less than $10. It's basically a tool that allows you to put a tiny rubber band around the base of the nasty little bastard. Leave it on for a week or so, and the tag will eventually turn black and fall off. No pain, no bleeding, no scarring. Done.

Rub baby tears on them then maybe they'll say they're sorry and dissolve themselves, cupcake. How about he lathers them in rare essential oils and sleeps in a baby crib until they fall off? You snowflakes kill me with that. Always some easy woke little way to avoid hard choices like branding them off with a tire iron you heated with a blow torch. Scars? What are you a supermodel? I have dirt under my fingernails from 1972 and I eat with a hatchet, you think I'm wearing tiny rubber bands around like tinkerbell as I rip the positive traction rear axel out of a Dodge Charger so I can grease it up like Ned Beatty on a canoe trip? GTFO.
