It is official. I am totally bored as I watch the 51st National Stone Skipping Contest from last year I believe. Not even live! It was held on Mackinac Island and has a world record rock star who had 88 skips with one stone. It is on ESPN 8, the Ocho for the rest of you bored sports fans! I must admit though, as a kid, I loved skipping stones.

How is it possible not only for 88 skips, but to actually count them officially? I actually want to see that.

Well it has to be more exciting than World Series Of Poker.

I have no clue. I watched a bit of the contest and they said the officials did not use video at least during the competition but no way in the world to count 88 skips without some assistance. Doesn't instill a lot of confidence in that count.

“World series of poker”- how many times did you try to skip a rock from the hominy bridge to gray gap? Gotta put some English on it.

Unquestionably one of the coolest ways to throw a rock. Accuracy through the air was my thing though.

I got 92 skips on a stone one time.

It was right after my brother claimed 90 skips. He called me a liar and we wrestled around for two or three minutes. Then we went back to trying to hit frogs with rocks.

Pegged an old man in the temple trying to skip a stone once. Slipped out.

Dude, I've been looking for you.

I was planning on skipping the Stones even before they canceled. I just don't see paying $200.

Off-topic, but similar: Couldn't have done it on purpose even if I tried a thousand times, but I once hit the guy in the dunking booth with the softball instead of the target that I was aiming for. I had been walking around with a cold pepsi in my hand before walking up to the dunking booth, and when I threw the softball it just slipped out the side of my numb hand.

I was a kid and was mortified, as was my dad. The guy was cool about it and think almost more embarrassed for me due to the shittiness of my throw as I had just been loudly bragging to Dad about how good I was getting. Dad was an attorney/finance guy and was worried he would sue. I hit him pretty damn hard.
