I don’t believe it will improve this year because the o-line isn’t very talented and five receivers are out.
Hope Finley can perform a miracle but I think he may be just an interim OC until Venables can hire one after the season.

Hopefully more to come.
Hate that it happened to Seth but hey it just wasn't working out.
More need to follow him tho. Will see who is next at the end of the season.

My opinion:
OU and Venables made Littrell the easy sacrificial lamb and scapegoat in this quagmire of issues surrounding the inept offense.
This is not in defense of Littrell and hopefully by the start of next year there will be an elite OC hired.
As I stated earlier, the issues on the offense cannot be fixed by Littrell’s firing or Finley’s elevation to OC.
This team needs better linemen and healthy receivers. Right now OU has neither.

They made a buddy hire with SL instead of doing due dilligence and it back fired. Hopefully they can get a quality OC this time around and they have plenty of time to do it, no excuses this time around.
I heard JJF has never called a game before so I don't expect much. Brent said he hoped moving on from SL would provide a "Spark" but I just don't see how with all the issues right now. I think JJF was in the booth for the first time this season with SL vs SC and it didn't help any. I expect Ole Miss to take their turn and take a bigger bite out of our asses than any team so far.

On radio yesterday they said the players met with SL. The question was asked to the players if they were okay with the decision. The players responded they were good with it according to Toby Rowland. Now if true “what does that say about SL?”

To me it says “ The players on the offensive side didn’t much care for him”. Not a good endorsment for SL.

The school announced that co-offensive coordinator Joe Jon Finley will take over as the primary play caller. Senior offensive analyst Kevin Johns has been elevated to co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

They also touched on the part about KJ saying “ Johns has play calling experience where JJF has never called a game himself”

WTH is BV thinking? Why not Johns who actually has in game experience. Just doesn’t make any sense to me.

Get ready for another single digit scoring day.

Venables explanation was that Johns hasn't been involved in day-to-day game planning and JJF has. He felt it was too rushed to jump Johns directly into day-to-day planning.

Boneheaded move. Let get rid of inexperience and promote more inexperience
Speaks volumes to the head scratching hires by BV. The whole damn staff is learning on the job at OU. Joe C are you just a yes man? I know up and comers have to be given a chance but from what I have seen of JJF and his work with the TE's would be enough for me to see who else is on the Staff that could call plays. What a clusterfuck.

My opinion about the issues this team faces, now, is that things are going to get worse on several fronts before they get better.
Maine is very likely to be the only win the rest of the way. Road games with Ole Miss, Missouri and LSU with Alabama at home represent a huge challenge that would test even the great Sooner teams.
