Same guy that posted this ^. Almost every post about lack of studs and was saying this in the off-season. Lol.
I think the team is talented. I just think now that we’ve got a sample size and seen them against really good competition, they’re not that good together. It’s poorly constructed. It’s not THIS bad, but I think the JMI contract is in the way for some of these guys and they’re simply not going to play hard when they’ve got NIL offers and they’re being told no, not in UK gear. I really think it’s got something to do with this. They are not playing hard at all.

we will find out more in the offseason, but Mark was signaling a huge problem like he wanted us to know this is bigger than just a basketball issue. I think that’s what it is. “I’ll play when you clear me for my deal”. I don’t think many understood how this worked until recently.

Also I do believe and I’ll just say this, huge issue with a female in the team and that’s caused another major issue.

Fact remains, this is on Mark. You can’t do this at UK. It’s not a question you can’t. This is going to get worse and next season he will either reduce in a major way or he’s out.

I still say until Mitch is gone and new leadership tackles the NIL we’re done anyway.

Yeah, I agree it’s on Mark Pope. And I’ve been consistent in saying that. What grinds my gears is how Saul has, as loudly as possible, been so boisterous and loud about the roster being so untalented. I’ve been saying it’s other reasons since the beginning of the year and been “called out” in so many “I told you so’s” only to find out Saul was debating about having too much talent before the year. I’m going to find my Louisville film review and let’s see if you don’t notice something: I’ve been saying the same things all season, and yet I’m the one getting called out everytime we lose a game lol. I’ll link you when i find my Louisville thread.

There's been no "I told you sos" from before the season or what I thought they would be. What are you even talking about? I was clearly wrong about my assessment on this team, and the cohesive talent isn't there. I thought it would be. We all did. I suppose it might there in a vacuum, but it doesn't fit. For a self-identified man of integrity who calls out others on their lack of integrity, I'm expecting you not to strawman me and at least be honest enough to represent my actual positions in good faith. So now that you have a fuller view, I'm giving you a chance to represent my views accurately. Here they are in a nutshell:
1. I thought this team would gel. I was wrong.
2. The team has the talent in a vacuum but it doesn't fit.
3. The coaching staff is 100% responsible for the misread.
4. Now that there is evidence that the team doesn't fit, I'm holding the staff responsible and changing my views based on the evidence.
5. I have and will continue to debate fans who can't admit that the pieces don't fit and that the season is a trainwreck.

I've been saying this team won't turn around and that it was poorly constructed since the Michigan State game. Look at my old posts. That was the game where I realized that the pieces didn't fit. UNC showed me we lacked situational scoring. Gonzaga showed me we completely lacked a soul. All of this has been based on what I've seen this year. There is no connection to what I thought they would be this summer. In fact, that has made the train wreck even worse from an expectation level. I actually thought these guys would be good. In a vacuum, I think many of them are, but they don't fit. I was wrong.

I'll gladly engage with you, man, but if you keep trolling, I'm going to tell it straight every time. This team is not what we most of us thought it would be, including me. And yes, I will adamantly disagree when other fans keep basing their assessments on hopes and dreams, instead of the actual evidence presented before us. I respect people who change their views based on evidence. The evidence is that we lack a cohesive team. Additionally it's not my job to evaluate the talent here and be right about it before the season. It's Pope's job.

Actually, I agree with 1-5 here. I still contend there is reason to believe injuries play a massive role, and I know fans are sick of hearing about those.
