Watching. One of the things I am actively contemplating is how some of these schools would fare in ramblinman's 8A competitive class.

With a combined 1 loss between them it is possible that they impressed the computers enough. @JCHILLTOPPERS would say DST is plenty athletic and both them and Forreston's point differentials may be big enough that they end up with the big boys. We'll see after this weekend when the formula is released.

Let's see, Pops .. I'm 43 and have been going to games and watching closely since I was 7. This is your only audience now ... this is just a distraction for me.

Under your watch, print died and newspapers gave way to forums like this. You wish you had importance like back in the day.

And I was on the sideline for the first state title games in 74. My history is far deeper than picking up a pen or newspaper.

Those of us that have been around this game longer than you watch much more than just the teams in our area. Pops

He's gonna keep the same teams, just classify and seed them all properly based on his super genius formula to eliminate first round blowouts.
I'm just wondering if he's gonna do this before or after he cures cancer and builds a wall that Mexico will pay for.

So you covered the Carlyles and Duquoins in person? Edwardsville since the early 80s - and all of the SWC teams? Normal in the 90s/Aughts? Rita and the CCL since 1991? SHG games for 30 years? Each of the Hazelwoods since Tony Van Zant in the 80s? SLU, CBC, Lutheran N/S?

The MLS for 18 years - you probably have, since that's your coverage. But to say you've "watched" all over that state is BS. Your little paper has a defined area you did not venture beyond and internet streams are relatively new.

And this is just my hobby - that's your profession.

Been to Hillsboro edeardsville danville effingham Mt Zion - that pretty much covered the most part of the state. I used to have an AP vote so I took interest.

Much like you knowing very little about what we do up here.

The whole mines better than your argument is tired and old.

Could the turf have anything to do with that? Not sure but that back's moves put several on their backsides.

Exactly me too. doesn't look too promising - I think half the 8A teams would running clock the two 1A teams playing now.

I thought Forreston looked pretty good. Especially the defense, they strung DST out and wouldnt let them break containment or the long play too often which was what it looked like they were trying to do.

Plus I love 3x option.

I think their score differential in the regular season would be enough to move them into that class. They almost outclassed their entire schedule.

M-F uni's look pretty snazzy. Theyre another team I would look at to be in that top class. Their playoff history as of late is comparable with the best of them.

They definitely have a handful of kids that can play at the large school division sizes for sure. However, as a team - a lot of areas would be overwhelmed in one on one player matchups.

That triple option veer type offense (or whatever it is) is very interesting.

Like how they got the Raiders there under "Leadership" on that IHSA commercial. Way to bring the masses back to their side.

Yeah, Naperville N and JCA didnt run the 3x option. A lot of misdirection and of course the double handoff. I prefer the 3x option out of any formation, but prefer the I Form or split backfield.

It was looking like Dee Mac was going to bully ball M-F to the victory. But M-F is fighting back.
