Only small section of Pathfork & Brownies Creek received mild flooding in Bell. You’re correct, everything was north. Knott, Perry, & Letcher along the North Fork of the KY river took the damage. I should be in the area as well next week. My contacts tell me hygiene items, bedding, cleaning supplies and water are needed most right now.We have a small contingent of military veterans (& friends who may also choose to join) -- based at Blue Grass Station - right now its all Lockheed Martin employees
We are targeting 8/6 to come into the area (location TBD) to bring supplies & offer help
Details are being worked next week - the main dude organizing it also did something similar for last year's Western KY tornado victims -
I posted the results of their trip and they got a fair amount done & delivered a solid amount of material assist as well
Im from Bell Co / Middlesboro & that area seems to have missed the system that was mostly north of them
Harlan co somehow was spared. High waters but not much damage. Things like this bring out the best in Kentuckians.Only small section of Pathfork & Brownies Creek received mild flooding in Bell. ill pass your information on actually
25 dead now -
Thats surprisingly bad
Saw that. Terrible news. This state has been thru so much this past year. Cal will do his thing like he always does and I know others will share as much as they can afford to in terms of the relief effort. And 14 from my home county. Knott is beyond devastated.

You from Harlan, Ed?Harlan co somehow was spared. High waters but not much damage. Things like this bring out the best in Kentuckians.
County yes. City no.You from Harlan, Ed?
My moms doctor is over there. His building is by the Pine Mountain Grill. She talked to him today and he was very luck. My wife saw on the news the path of the worst rain missed Harlan Co by 20 miles. They had high water but really nothing bad. I go up there 1-2 times a month and usually my boys go with me. I was showing them pictures and pointing out buildings under water and they could not comprehend the damage. You won’t find better people anywhere. I always say if I break down let it be there because more than one person will stop to help.I am in Letcher County. It is devastating here. It has ravaged our county from one end to the other. Recovery will take a long time.

I’ve been working in Letcher all week. Some days shoveling & cleaning, some unloading supplies, and others taking supplies up in the hollers. It’s brutal. Things looks much better now than late last week. You can at least see pavement. Hopefully FEMA allows the cities to move the trash soon. There are still several families up the hollers whose bridges have washed out and they can’t get to food. Some we have taken food to had been without for 2-3 days. Plenty of supplies, but little man power. Several coming in though. Met several people who have lost everything but still out checking on and helping their neighbors. Keep the people in your prayers.I am in Letcher County. It is devastating here. It has ravaged our county from one end to the other. Recovery will take a long time.
