Second fake punt was stupid strategically, plus very poorly organized. Handed Ole Miss a double-digit lead.

His worst call of the night was going for it on 4th down in his own territory, relatively late in the game.Second fake punt was stupid strategically, plus very poorly organized. Handed Ole Miss a double-digit lead.
I think one thing occasioned the other. Even though they retook the lead after being down, he knew they didn't have a handle on stopping Ole Miss. Georgia's offense wasn't very good in the second half. Their receivers aren't that good at getting separation. That freshman was out of his depth. Plus, they were seriously hampered when that lead running back got hurt late. His worst call of the night was going for it on 4th down in his own territory, relatively late in the game.
2nd year in a row Kirby calls a complete bonehead play as you mentioned, and last year just before half against ND, again he goes bonehead. His worst call of the night was going for it on 4th down in his own territory, relatively late in the game.
If memory serves, he did the same thing in the first SEC championship game he ever coached. Fake punt blew up and they wound up losing.2nd year in a row Kirby calls a complete bonehead play as you mentioned, and last year just before half against ND, again he goes bonehead.
Then near the end of the game on a critical 3rd down UGA braintrust calls a Cover 0 on defense. IdioticIf memory serves, he did the same thing in the first SEC championship game he ever coached. Fake punt blew up and they wound up losing.
It certainly appears that way to me also.Ole Miss has less of a chance of beating Indiana than Georgia. There won't be any redemption for the SEC's poor showing in the postseason.
Agree, but not sure anyone can stop the Indy mission focused team.Ole Miss has less of a chance of beating Indiana than Georgia. There won't be any redemption for the SEC's poor showing in the postseason.
I would haver a lot easier time believing Kirby if A) Stockton is lined up under center in a bunch formation and B) Stockton actually looked surprised at the snapI was reading some quotes from Kirby. He said that they weren't supposed to snap the ball on 4th down in their own territory. They were trying to draw them off-sides. He said the snap caught Stockton off-guard?
How does this happen? Particularly after a timeout? Is Kirby just trying to save face by suggesting it wasn't his fault?
I don't see Ole Miss beating Miami, let alone IndyOle Miss has less of a chance of beating Indiana than Georgia. There won't be any redemption for the SEC's poor showing in the postseason.
Watched his post game. Don’t recall him saying it caught Stockton offsides but that they were trying to draw offsides and it wasn’t supposed to be snapped. There was a misunderstanding/miscommunication that he said was on the coaches for the snap occurring.I was reading some quotes from Kirby. Sorry, the article said it was snapped to a surprised Stockton. Not a direct quote from Kirby. C&P belowWatched his post game. At this point, that seems credible.I don't see Ole Miss beating Miami, let alone Indy
It's easy. You just don't do both at the same time. How does one win multiple NC's and be dumb?
I knew he was going to lose when he made that decision. What was he thinking? His worst call of the night was going for it on 4th down in his own territory, relatively late in the game.
He claims the ball was not supposed to be snapped. Communication error with the coaches??I knew he was going to lose when he made that decision. What was he thinking?
14th game of the season. Inexcusable if true. Inexcusable either way.He claims the ball was not supposed to be snapped. Communication error with the coaches??
It was said that he was trying to draw Ole Miss offsides, but the center snapped it, much to Stockton's surprise.14th game of the season. Inexcusable if true. Inexcusable either way.
