Nothing but respect from me when talking about Plymouth. Very well coached, athletic, got to bring A game to beat em. Watched 2 great games vs my Black Knights. You can get Jim toms finest on your end of the state , you guys call it Coleman Fuel. Yea you can see what you got week 1 if you open w Tarboro. Best of luck!

Thanks. I just wish it was a little later in the season when both teams have had a chance to get their feet under them. We have a couple of holes to fill. It will take the guys a couple of games to get a good feel for what they need to do. The good thing about the last five years is everyone except the freshman have had those 6 extra practice weeks. It certainly helps. Good luck to you guys this season as well!

So using your logic, there is no such thing as a "best" coaching staff because we don't know what every coaching staff out there would or wouldn't do at a different school, and since no coaching staff has ever gone it's entire existence without losing a single game then there is no way to know if they are truly the best. Okay got it. Did I miss anything??

As far as those four games against Robbinsville, the 2014 team had a season ending injury to it's best player and several other key players were hurt much of the season. That team was never 100% and that's unfortunate, because when healthy they were absolutely the best team in the SMC. Rville posters will disagree and would never admit it and that's fine, but it is what it is. In 2015, Rville was just the better, more experienced team. This past year, Murphy was the better, more experienced team and they have a 15-1 record and a conference and a state title to show for it. Bottom line I guess is that the mark of a good coaching staff, IMO, is consistency and being able to make the most of a season with the players you have. Few (if any) do that better than Murphy's staff in 1a football.
I think 2014 and 15 Robbinsville was just better or more so their kids just refused to lose, games were close they just made the plays and we didn't, there have been years past where I thought they were the better team but we were able to win, I guess I am saying the most talented team don't always win,our 2016 team had kids on that team that refused to lose.

Yes you did. Plymouth couldn't get anything going and then wet themselves twice on an extra point making Coach Gentry's decision to go for two pretty much a no brainer! I for one have enjoyed the three games our two schools have played against each other. Two games decided by a single point and the third was a five point game that came down to the last play of the game. Who could ask for more?
