Swain jv plays Hayesville next Thursday at Hayesville. 18-20 9th graders on the roster. Key to the season is the offensive line. If they block then I have faith we can go undefeated. If not then it could be a lot tougher. Some surprises in regards to personnel this season. People changing positions as well. Interested to see if the players will adapt well.

Well Murphy lost there starting runningback/safety and the probable starting wingback/cornerback before the season even started. WB/CB was an injury, should be back on varsity next year.

After watching our J v team practice and seeing the size and athletes we can field we should be able to compete with anybody we line up against. I'll be very disappointed if we lose this year.

How many freshman does robbinsville have this year?

Swain and Murphy probably feel the same way. Typical 3-way battle at the top.

Losing vining on jv hurt more on defense than offense. Offensively he wasn't on the same level as wood and Rumfelt. They will be just fine unless they start pulling players up to varsity. I guess that will depend on how bad the injury bug bites on varsity.

Who has freshman on varsity? Hayesville has McTaggart (probably the next D1 athlete from the SMC as a TE). Murphy has McCracken.

McTaggart might outgrow football though, to early to tell. He 6'5 now and if he gets past 6'7 football probably not in the cards. He has a much better chance of playing D1 football than he does D1 basketball so hope not.

The JV head coach told me low 20s but that was before school started.

They was putting some huge speakers on the press box today. They sounded great. Can't wait to here some Back-N-Black.
Still some painting to do. Bathroom remodeling hadn't started yet.

Lightning delay.
Cats 0
Knights 0
Early 2nd Q.
I was a few minutes late. I have only saw us with the ball twice. First drive we fumbled. 2nd we had a holding call which put us at 2nd a 20 i think. Cats had ball a couple times but not able to move it.
Looking through my blacknwhite glasses, I think Robbinsville is the better team. Knights D looks tough. I think we will start to take over if we continue.
But who knows.

There's not a bigger knight fan than I am, but Andrews looked better than we did for the few plays that happened. No fundamentals for robbinsville at all. Our qb was waiting on the ball and nothing jacks up timing like waiting on the ball. A lot of work needs to happen before our next game. Too many big strong players for that poor of a showing. Sorry if I stepped on toes sorry.

Swain first string looked like the undefeated champs they were growing up. Unstoppable.
But that is against a Rosman defense so that may not mean anything. Even the second team backs were running good. Line looked better than I thought as well. Two studs on the line. Might have a third stud on the line that stood out to me.

I don't know if I agree with wildcat3015's prediction about next week, but if "memory serves me correctly" we were up in that game 12-0 last year with six minutes left, had dominated the game for three and a half qtrs, without our starting qb and right tackle, but lost on one bonehead play and one blown coverage. We had over 300 yrd rushing and Murphy possibly had a hundred, mostly off of those two big plays. A win is a win, and the bulldog JV were rightly the conference champs last year, but aside from only two crucial plays there would have been a different conference champ. Anyone at that game saw a dominant Andrews team, so spare us the trash talk about last year. I think Murphy JV may very well win the conference again this year, but I don't remember anyone from Andrews saying they were gonna "thump" anyone last year. And if they said that on here then they were just foolish
I don’t know about any trash talking last year but I was at the game. Yes we were up and inside the 20 moving the ball at will. 2nd string QB made a ill advised throw across the field and it was a pick 6. Young back up QB mistake. The 2nd score for Murphy was a sling it up for grabs kind a throw with the defensive back making a poor attempt on the play. That’s how football goes sometimes. Andrews did play better and the 2 major mistakes killed them. It seemed to wake Murphy up for the rest of season and Wildcats Varsity had to move jv’s best players up because of injuries. That’s how the ball bounces sometimes
