I don’t know about any trash talking last year but I was at the game. Yes we were up and inside the 20 moving the ball at will. 2nd string QB made a ill advised throw across the field and it was a pick 6. Young back up QB mistake. The 2nd score for Murphy was a sling it up for grabs kind a throw with the defensive back making a poor attempt on the play. That’s how football goes sometimes. Andrews did play better and the 2 major mistakes killed them. It seemed to wake Murphy up for the rest of season and Wildcats Varsity had to move jv’s best players up because of injuries. That’s how the ball bounces sometimes
I agree with most everything said about last year, but the "ill-advised" part of that pass was that it was ever thrown. Coach caved under pressure and put his QB in a position to fail. If running works, don't reinvent the wheel.

Robbinsville looked pitiful...And that is an understatement...Andrews just as bad..Murphy will have NO trouble with Andrews.

Murphy didn't scrimmage today. Everyone thinks they look good but you don't know until you go one's vs one's. It remains to be seen how this Murphy team will do. We'll find out next week.

Keep in mind that this was the 1st game of season with a lot of kids fresh off Midget teams. Big difference and new systems. It’s a time to learn and don’t expect it to be a well oiled machine.

Swain first string looked like the undefeated champs they were growing up. Unstoppable.
But that is against a Rosman defense so that may not mean anything. Even the second team backs were running good. Line looked better than I thought as well. Two studs on the line. Might have a third stud on the line that stood out to me.

Swain should be loaded with freshman this year, freshman heavy jv teams are hard to beat. If I'm not mistaken they basically brought back everyone for the exception of the kid playing QB on varsity.

That is correct but we did have two linemen that moved up this season because they are sophomores as well. So same team minus three starters. Still loaded. The key is the offensive and defensive lines this jv season.

Andrews at Murphy next week. Andrews by 2 touchdowns. Don’t think they can stop Austin Martin.

We hammered him and #3 all night. 90% of your plays were #5 up the middle. Any team with a decent D-line will have a field day.

Bad play calling all night. I was right about not stopping Austin Martin. He could have 3-4 yarded you all night. We played bad as a team. Sadly, even though we lost, I wasn’t impressed with Murphy. Play calling for Murphy was horrendous. Good game though.

His dad is the jv coach. Their current 8th graders when they combine with the current 10th graders could make one of Andrews' better groups down the line if they stay put, keep developing, etc.
