Assuming both Murphy and Cherokee wins tonight

Robbinsville defeats swain


Will the winner between murphy and Cherokee be SMC champs or will there be a coin flip between cherokee and Murphy???


If there is a three way tie between swain . murphy and cherokee how would that be decided???

Why would Murphy-Cherokee be a coin Flip? If Swain loses the and Cherokee wins they are undefeated conference Champs. If Swain loses and Murphy wins then they are co-Champs and Murphy gets #1 seed. In the event of a 3 way tie, then it is a drawing.

I think what he means is if it comes down to Murphy beating Cherokee next week, are they the champs since they won head to head or is it a drawing to see who gets the #1 seed.

My u derstanding is co champs with Murphy getting 1 seed for playoffs . If Cherokee wins is soley cherokee

If it ends in a 3 way tie the 3 teams tied used to meet at a central location and either draw straws or flip coins

So dang cherokee could draw 3rd and be a 10 and 1 team on the road for most of the playoffs.

Let me guess nole fan!!?? Since everybody got beat, woke up, out gained and everything else we're gonna get beat by 1,000 next week!!?? Ridiculous, we're undefeated and still gonna get tha beat down!! I came thru Cherokee in 2000-2004 and I always heard all you people talk about us like this and now that I'm growed up I'm findin it's tru!! For you Mitchell, Murphy and whoever thinks I'm that city slicker rich, I played for coach mutt, Tim Smith, scooter McCoy, don Millwood, jayson ornsby, Bill picon, blane wolf, dude Davis!! And unz probably really hated us cause we fought back to!! I guess since Andrews cat died last week they'd beat us by 100 now to!!

Everyone from Murphy knows the Dogs will have their hands full next week. Cherokee is undefeated and playing at home and 'Dogs are a little banged up defensively, Braves will be favored.

This is what it’s all about last regular season game and all the marbles on the table . What a crowd it’s gonna be . Hopefully we will keep it close and be a great game

Murphy will definitely have their hands full with Cherokee next week. It's at Cherokee, I'm sure it'll be standing room only. I feel that Murphy matches up better with Cherokee than they did Swain and Robbinsville. Turnovers and mistakes will be huge for both teams in a game this big.

I don't want to hear nobody talk about last year. Or excuses for Swain or who so and so has played and hasn't played or that Cherokee did this or did that or Murphy was this and that last year. Cherokee fully expects a football game every week. Every home game is packed. Another week another opponent.

Which is why this community is excited don’t happen here every year. I for one am really excited lots to prove for this team. I’ve said before when tested they stepped up . This week hopefully no different

Like I said....that's last year. It's obviously a different team. For better or worse. Graduation and injuries make sure the team is different

Hahah!! If I get mad at everyone who don't pick us next week then I better change my name to "me against tha world"!!! I respect Murphy and always have for some reason, can't really tell you why!! Just everybody postin after we played them that they would kill us now, or gives some history lesson from way back!! And then it's tha refs, then it's tha conference sucks this year!! Come on man!!!!!! I seriously thought we might struggle against hayesville lookin past them to Murphy!! Man they looked pretty darn flawless tho!! Hope all injuries are gone come Friday!!!

Don't know who will win... probably whoever wants it more, the teams seem to be pretty evenly matched talent-wise. I doubt there'll be any Swain fans pulling for the Braves this year, though... we want a share of the conference championship. Go 'Dogs! :)

I got to witness what got to be the most people ever at a smc basketball game at the conference tourney at Cherokee when our boys played Hayesville and if I think happens this could be most people to watch a football game lol .

I think you'd have to go some to beat some of the crowds from the 60s and 70s and maybe even the 80s--anytime before there was much else to do on a Friday night in WNC. Many times the old stadium on Schoolhouse Hill was absolutely packed and overflowing when Murphy or Sylva-Webster came to town. True, it was smaller, but not sure there weren't more people at the games back then. I remember having a hard time getting around inside, it was so crowded.

I guarantee it. But it was a great venue to watch 2 good games that night. Through the years I was crammed in a lot of SMC Gymnasiums to watch the SMC Championships. I was blessed to play at WCU for the SMC Championship in 1980 and that was awesome.

How many thousands of people were at the 1987 Murphy/Swain game in Bryson City? I remember a lot of people and very cold that night.

I vaguely remember that game, I think. Had a new kid, so I wasn't following the team that closely then. But the stadium was packed, and it was COLD.... temp might have been 15-20 degrees, maybe a little colder. There might have been as many as 10,000 there... 7 or 8000 for sure. This was at the new stadium, and before the internet and smartphones or even radio broadcasts, so if you wanted to know what was going on, you had to go to the game. It's kind of sad to see that the stands weren't even full for last week's game... on the other hand, I got to see it, and probably had a better view than the folks in the stands (and replays, too). But if I were still living in BC, I'd make the effort to get out. Demographics are not what they used to be, either, though. More people live in BC now, but many of them are less involved with the school and the community.

Should be a great game..after seeing Cherokee play..much much better than I have credit..they will give murphy all they want..should be a great game...just please somebody from the mountains beat MIC yet again in the playoffs
