Murphy has played them more than us. They have 4 SMC teams on the schedule. This is Robbinsville 2nd year playing them. Should be the last year for us.
No one can help it. Next to impossible for Robbinsville, Swain, and Murphy to get games against legitimate opponents. Smoky Mountain, Fannin County GA, Gilmer County GA, and Hendersonville all dropped Murphy in last few years. Union County GA, Tiwnes County GA, Copper Basin TN and South Pittsburg TN just won't schedule Murphy. So thus year it's two terrible teams like North Georgia plus a five hour ride to Central Davidson.
When will this Maxpreps nonsense stop? It’s already bit every sport in the butt. I think it should only matter in conference or league play.
The better question is.....when will the nchsaa grow a set and dump maxpreps? Stop pawning the responsibility off on a 3rd party and figure it out theirselves. Its not rocket science.....

Could be a bad week for the SMC. A very good chance that Robbinsville is the only team that will win for sure !!
Especially when we have to play non-traditional schools like these. You never know how this team may look. They might be totally different the following year. I mean we smacked Christ School good at first! They were pitiful now the only ones who look pitiful is their opponents.

I hope I'm wrong about Murphy, not sure how healthy they are right now. They're going to have a good season.
This Murphy team will be a beast down the stretch, gotta get some folks healed up first.
Does Murphy rest some of nicked up players? Do they run the risk of re-injuring key players again. I think this game is all about pride. Nothing lost only thing gained is bragging rights. But redemption is a fickle beast though.

I'm sure theyll do right by the boys, but theres no way I'd play McTaggart or Roberts the rest of non conference unless they are for sure 100%.
Hate it for the kids that have worked their tails off all summer to already be injured, especially the seniors..In 1A ball in the SMC disaster is only one play away. What if Murphy were to lose Nelson, What if Swain were to lose Sain, what if Cherokee loses Evans,Robbinsville a starting lineman? Prayers that no more significant injuries happen.

Always happy to be wrong when it means a Bulldog win. Murphy looked much better up front tonight, just too strong in the trenches for the Panthers. Another top performance from the 'Dogs defense, Murphy had 3 or 4 interceptions and dominated the line of scrimmage. If 'Dogs can find a passing game, look out.
Really hope #28 Murray is ok, hurt his ankle in the 3rd quarter and never came back in, can not afford to lose him.

Rosman 0 Brevard 42, the tigers played tough like always & can't ever be taken lightly. But once again turnovers & interceptions hurt em bad. Brevard looked much better tonight and were hitting on all cylinders. Hopefully both our teams here in the county continue to improve & have decent season.
Murphy looked great on defense and I can’t believe Franklin beat Asheville. Smoky Mountain will beat Franklin this year. Murphy’s offensive got stronger as the game went on and will only improve. They do have injuries but have so many quality backs they just keep rolling. Boy was I wrong picking Swain to win conference by a narrow margin. Don’t know what is going on with Swain
I'm not even gonna try to pick games anymore this year. It's been a crazy few weeks.
Tha kids in Murphy are bought into what gentry and staff has to sell, and that's quite a bit!!! Imo Murphy will always be ok with what they have!!!
I think it was fair to be pessimistic considering the injuries, great to see Roberts back out there tonight, Slade too even though it was pretty obvious he's still nursing that ankle.
If Murphy can get healthy and stay healthy I won't be picking against them the rest of the season. The defense is better than last year's when everyone is on the field and so is the running game.
My worry is the passing game, absolutely must improve there in order to beat the cream of the crop teams in 1AA west, if Murphy goes 1AA.

I know Smoky Mountain is very much improved over last season, but there's no way they're 50 points better than Swain. I don't even know what to say about that, it's unfathomable to me that a Swain coached football team would lose that bad to anyone.
I'm assuming that Swain fans are in full meltdown mode after the last two weeks.
Too early for meltdown mode, especially with a team with only 9 seniors. But that's either a serious wakeup call, or the first step down a long, hard road.
Sometimes an a** beating can be a good thing. Murphy got punked by Franklin at home in 2016 and they responded by gut stomping everyone the rest of the way on their run to a state title.
I can’t even begin to list the issues that I witnessed tonight. Unbelievable.
