R’ville 54-8 over an inadequate opponent. Not exactly a pretty game. R’ville showed their youthfulness for sure. A couple of miscues but very hard to critique them. Not much to go off of as far as what they showed. Our backs Hooper and Anderson showed what we all expected unfortunately it was like playing a JV team. Our line is definitely the smallest I’ve seen in a long time as Orr towered over them. All in all it’s a win and major injuries were avoided.
Our defense was young but they showcased that patented Black Swarm football. Always 4 or 5 on the ball. Like I’ve stated it’s not a game that was full of excitement. The only excitement was when the N. Georgia players began to get testy. Had one ejected and another basically give up. Not exactly a pretty sight and they better straighten up with Murphy and I believe Andrews on their schedule.

Too early for meltdown mode, especially with a team with only 9 seniors. But that's either a serious wakeup call, or the first step down a long, hard road.

Hell I hope it is a serious wake up call!!!!
We are on to North Henderson at home next week. I’m pulling a Bill Belichick. We are on to North Henderson.......

In a previous post I commented that Hayesville might have a roller coaster season. I did not expect a roller coaster game like tonight’s. HHS took the opening kickoff and mounted an impressive drive only to turn the ball over deep in Basin territory. 2 quick stops and 2 solid drives produce a 14-0 starting the 2nd. After 3 consecutive TO’s deep in their own territory they go in at the half up 14-13. The second half was basically dominated by Hayesville. A good 3 quarters tonight, overall a good needed win by a banged up young team.

Your right. I wish we did not play them. Last season our starters played the first quarter and subs played three quarters. I guess it’s good for them to play some right before playoffs. Robbinsville pull their starters out after first quarter?

No I know the majority of the parents respect Neil. I know I do. He has earned that respect. Just have to get this young team to gel and fix some issues. Use players for their strengths and fix some weaknesses. If this young team gets some confidence then people will be shocked what they can do. I have seen it in flashes but just to be more consistent. Remember this junior and sophomore group is the team that went undefeated in conference and won the jv conference championship. They will get there.

I know Smoky Mountain is very much improved over last season, but there's no way they're 50 points better than Swain. I don't even know what to say about that, it's unfathomable to me that a Swain coached football team would lose that bad to anyone.
Brindley is an offense Mastermind and he does well picking apart defences

I mean it’s like we forget that Smoky used to be Sylva-Webster. They have been a storied program that has been looking to find some sort of success again.

Very storied program in the 20th century...Every team has a 'down cycle" but going on 30 years since a deep playoff run is a long time....was the new coach in charge of Pisgah's offense the last few years ?
