Good question !! Seeing Andrews has 225 students and 21 players it would be almost impossible to win. About every 10 years Andrews will have a good team come through and will have 28 to 30 players. On a good year we might end up with a 4 & 6 or at best 6 & 4 season. In your proposal it would be like mites playing the midgets in youth football. Like Reynolds playing UNC or WCU playing the Dallas Cowboys. I don’t know any other way to explain it to you. The more students in a school the more athletes you will have to choose from.

They had a 75 yd run and a 93 yd run on the reserves in the 4th quarter. That's 170 of the 250 rushing yds right there

In general, the best from WMAC won't do it. But, in their defense, if they win they were supposed to, if they lose then they git beat by a 1A school.
It was two plays. But yeah Murphy defense reserves were not near good enough. Were about to give up another TD in the 4th before Central Davidson fumbled. Matters because it looks like a close win and kills Maxpreps rankings which hurts seeding. Murphy just doesn't have any depth this year other than the runningbacks and line.

On paper right now you could say Swain is the fourth best team but the way this year has gone they could win conference lol. As the season goes on injuries could be the great equalizer. I'm afraid the Murphy vs Robbinsville game will be a lot closer than most Dog fans like, especially since it's in Graham. My guess at this point would be

I still think Swain is going to finish in the top two in conference. 1st or 2nd. Robbinsville and Cherokee for third and fourth. If Swain finishes third or fourth then it’s an underachieving season.

The Franklin game should sort some things out and I have no idea who to pick in that one. Not your normal Franklin run team.
If we get our running game going then we will be fine vs franklin. If we force them to pass more then we will be good as well.
It will be tough for any of Murphy, Robbinsville, Swain and Cherokee to beat each other on the road this year I think. Murphy gets Swain and Cherokee at home. Robbinsville gets Murphy and Cherokee at home. Swain gets Robbinsville at home. Cherokee gets Swain at home. Murphy and Robbinsville have the easier conference schedules because they only see one of the other three on the road.

After Friday night I think we'll have a much better idea of how the conference is going to play out. Ill be keeping a close eye on the Swain and Robbinsville games.
You Asheville schools really don't need to travel any great distances to find a good non conference test. Call down to Christ School tell em you want to schedule an appointment for next fall. Some of you heros can walk to the game.
I'm not sure how to guage the Christ School game..if we get beat by 50 does that mean we are terrible.? If we keep it close does that mean we can be top 2 or 3 in SMC? I will say this,if we win,look out SMC.

Don't agree with magnum cherokee has always had athletes now they are staying not going to Swain. Plus they have a great coach. But I think they are down little this season.
No good local 4A teams local to the area. There are plenty of 2A and 3A so what's your excuse.
