Different vibe coming from the Murphy faithful compared to last week. What about Robbinsville after beating Erwin? Close game on the field or just on the scoreboard?

Offense was clicking. Nice long run by 20 and good to see 2 back. Hunter Laney had a great catch. Good night for the Bulldogs!
I'm not sure but someone text me and said there was 170 plays in the ballgame..we were definitely tired after defending probably 45 or 50 pass plays..Robbinsville was clicking.Another 300 yd rushing game..seems like play calling changed in 2nd half..maybe trying some new things? I know the plays we were killing them on in the 1st half we didn't run in the 2nd half..we kinda got a little complacent after steam rolling them in the 1st half. Could have scored again at end of game as we were on the 3yd line.I thought it was our best game all year all in all..We won't see another qb like that this year.

Murphy saw him twice when he was at Pisgah, unless he's improved a lot I wouldn't count on that.
You do realize #20 got banged up during the game right? Probably should have all the facts before you pop your gums.
#34 runs tough and is a solid all around back, he doesnt have the raw ability or vision of #20 but he will continue to improve. Both of them will continue to get better and both them will get plenty of opportunities to show their worth over the course of the season.
He’s in an entirely different system built to his strengths. He will definitely be the best we’ll see. He has more weapons at his disposal and is deadly outside the pocket.
I dont doubt the system is better for him and I know he has way more weapons at Erwin, but the kid always looked extremely shaky at Pisgah, "gunshy" the best adjective I could use. I also was never awed by his scrambling ability. Maybe all that was a product of the system he was in, glad he came good.
I'll say this much though, even if Erwin QB is the best you see this season this year's Rumfelt, at his best, is way ahead of the version Robbinsville saw last season.

Year older, year stronger, year smarter. I would certainly hope is better.
This is laughable, 2 games ago 12 can’t scratch his hind end, now he’s the best QB in all of WNC.
#12 played his best game by far of his career, definetly showed how high his ceiling can be. Curious though what Murphy fans thought of Hayesvilles young sophomore QB, he has grown a lot already since game 1. I think he has the potential to be really good.
He passed for 250 yds and 3 tds against Reynolds? He's leading all of WNC in passing and tds..He's by far the best we will see. The 2nd best we will see is on our own team.
Never remotely said either of those things and your implication of that kind of hyperbole on my end is amusing. He played really well in Roberson scrimmage and then had a rough game against Andrews. He's been excellent the last two weeks.
Here's the thing, he doesnt have to be the best QB in WNC to give Murphy a chance against the Knights, just has to play the way he has been.

Reynolds D got shredded last night by Roberson, their QB had an even bigger night. Erwin QB sounds like he's improved a lot, that's great. No way he's better than Collins, Collins is capable of all that in a spread system like Erwin.
After watching #12 first game of the season, I was thinking a changing of the guard could be a possibility at some point if things didn't improve. Qb changes have definitely happened before during the season at MHS. The last 2 games #12 has vastly improved his play. I also think he played his best game on varsity last night. Is this a guarantee for winning SMC and a state title, nah. It definitely doesn't hurt matters tho.
20 and 34 are both sophomores. Both are doing great things and both will have growing pains from time to time. Both have played with heart and are helping to win games.
Also must remember when I bragged on Knights players the last couple of weeks for doing great things, I was ridiculed and was reminded we were only playing Rosman and Hayesville...
So is Cherokee that good? Or is Andrews not who we thought they were?
Hayesville has some good pieces on O, the sophomore QB is already better than the last QB ever was. The younger McClure impressed me too.
Why are you comparing everything to the Knights? As much as you claim to know about football I would think you would be a head coach somewhere lol. Like blackcat said I would hope he is improved from last year, if the kid isn’t then that means he hasn’t put in any work. So kudos to that
Seems like there were folks quick to say hayesville was just freshman and sophomores lol I love SMC football even if it is in March.
After watching the game last night I thought the cats played their worst game. Andrews penalties let Cherokee hang around. I still think they’re a third place team.
First off I compare it to the Knights because the Knights are the king of the mountain right now, the team to beat, take it as a compliment.
Second I dont claim to know anything more than average joe when it comes to the intricacies of the game. I dont have to be a head coach or a coach of any kind to see the obvious. I've seen more than enough football to make decent general observations about talent and potential. Also the idea that a kid automatically improves year to year or takes giant leaps in development isnt always true. The game is more than just physical, it's also mental and that's especially true for the QB position, some kids never take the next step at that position but it seems he has.

I think we will see next week who will be the third place team, whether it be Andrews or Hayesville. I fully expect the winner of that game to come in third and possibly earn a playoff birth. I think if Hayesvilles young QB keeps his rapid rate of improvement going the Yellow Jackets will win.
Biscuit covered it pretty well but I'd also add that it's easy for kids to have a letdown game after a big emotional win that Andrews had last week. Think we'll know a lot more about their makeup/ceiling this coming Friday.
First I’m going to give Cherokee credit for coming out motivated and playing hard. They spread you out and the QB can run and throw. Their running back never stops driving his legs and runs hard. Now for the game we had 3 costly turnovers that lead to Cherokee TDS and the officials were flag happy especially late in the game. We answered quickly every time Cherokee scored and I’m talking quickly. We played Swain a almost flawless game but I had watched Cherokee film and new it wouldn’t be easy. Like the rest of our conference we are very young with a lot of sophomores starting. Not making excuses but it is what it is. Cherokee goes ahead after having 8 tries inside the 5 with 2 very late flags coming for interference. Oh players stayed calm and composed and threw a 67 yd td pass the first play after falling behind with 1:22 left. Keep in mind we had 2 tds called back in 1st half. I don’t look at it as taking a step back I look at it as finding a way to win by answering when the other team scores. One game at a time and Hayesville is next.
Andrews will probably have a tough time with the Hayesville offense, the same can be said for Hayesville and the Andrews offense. From the outside it does seem Andrews has become too one dimensional on offense the last two weeks, I might be wrong on this but heard they've only attempted one pass in the last two games. That might fly against Swain and Cherokee but its going to hurt them against better opposition. Bateman and their receivers are good enough that they don't need to do that, it's also really going to wear down Wilson and Weaver by the end of the season if they keep carrying it 30 times a game in addition to playing defense.
Agreed and I think the TE will be special. He has great hands.
Worst officiating I've ever seen this entire year
Hayesville has a strong core group of underclassmen skill people to build around in Caldwell, McClure, Lunsford, Brown and Leatherwood. Question for Hayesville will be the same as it always is, will there be enough upfront to compete with the elite of the conference when those kids are upperclassmen.
