While i dont think we will beat Christ school i do think we can make it respectable. I imagine we will stay with them for a half then they pull away from us a bit in second half...but who knows we have a punchers chance if we can control the football. Ill say cs by 14

I think swain beats franklin in a close one.

This is not the trinity you've seen before. They have no depth, but they have excellent skill players. A good qb, a huge full back, and 3 wings that can flat out fly. Line play is lacking, but the FB needs no line to gain yardage. He is about 6-3 225 or so, and quick.

Let's not take the mentality of a second rate program. You can never consider a loss on the scoreboard a win. If there's no chance of winning, I'm talking zero, 100% gonna get beat why drive 2 hrs to take a whipping ? My pick don't show it but stranger things have happened ! Just read where it costs $54,000 per year to attend Christ School..Who can afford almost a quarter of a million dollars to attend there for 4 years?? It's nothing more than a recruiting program that lures young men away from public school. No public school should ever play them again and they should not be allowed to take place in any NCHSAA event. They we're everyone's doormat just a few years ago..An easy win for everyone that played them. Now they are basically paying these kids and their parents to come and play for them..

With Christ School and this world of Maxpreps rankings, the benefit is now solely on strength of schedule. You run the gambet when you in the predicament that 1a are in. Not many programs to choose from. Can't afford to be picky. Look at Murphy driving across the state and travel takes a toll on the greatest of teams. Christ School recruits and they are getting better but they are in the league they belong. The same goes for Rabun Gap, they go thru fluctuations. Our 2014 run could of easily had a loss because Rabun had a track star flying around on us. I believe these games are gauges for us and if we play smart we can do some great things. Maybe not a win but with the way Charters schools are growing this might a nice tune up.

MaxPreps stats shows Franklin QB was 20-27 228 yds last week. Seen he struggled against Murphy but not sure Swain has a defense as good as Murphy. Looking at stats it doesn’t show Franklin as the put it on the ground and pound team as years before. But I do think this will be a good game for both teams to see where they are.

We probably schedule them for the same reason Cherokee has Asheville School this week. Now the tides have turned Christ School is top dog around here and Asheville School still has some work to do. I wouldn't underestimate the Blues this week.

To continue the sidebar, they had some big tall guys playing receiver, for sure. If this one kid could actually catch a football they could have put some more points on the board against us in The Pit, coz the fade pattern is always open when you are that tall. He just dropped so many of them. The points they did score were on big plays with either this quick little Barry Sanders-type RB or the no-hands-giant when he did haul one in.

Rabun Gap has some real talent and could be pretty good if more than half their kids weren't boarding students from other countries. I'd imagine it's hard to whip that many kids into football shape when most have never played before, even if your coach has NFL experience.

He struggled against Murphy because they knew how to blitz him. He rolls out a lot because hes just a little feller and cant see over his line, and they blitzed the outsides. If Swain can't put pressure on him he might pick them apart, but we do have a young offensive line that has some growing to do.

Rabun Gap has always had some good players. One RB that was really good and his last name was "rushing". Big WRs also. They scored more points on us than any team we played in 2014.

Robbinsville is 3-0 midgets, 3-0 Mites, and 3-0 Termites. Not been close either. We have played Cherokee, Smoky Mtn, and Murphy.
