This is easily the game of the week.

Rville is favored by most but if Swain can play the way they have the past few weeks it should be a dandy of a game.
Will the bye last week hurt Swain's momentum?

Cherokee @ Hayesville

Good measuring stick type game for the SMC. Cherokee is volatile and is capable of putting up points, but hasn't seemed to gel yet after getting shutout by Murphy last week. Hayesville appears more complete, can also score in bunches and should be favored. Hayesville also beat Enka who Cherokee already lost to.
Which Braves team will show up?

Bad Braves - 35-16 Hayesville
Good Braves- 42-38 Braves

Rosman @ Murphy

Murphy by any number they want. Rosman is improved but will be completely outmatched.

Swain - Robbinsville should tell us a lot about both teams and give a good insight into how the conference race may shake down. Was the Swain team that beat Heritage the level we can expect to see from the Maroon Devils the rest of the way?

I feel like the other games are relatively straightforward with Hayesville being favored and Murphy being clearly favored. It will be interesting to see if #5 for Murphy is able to dress this week. I would imagine Clem will be back for Robbinsville next week, but there's obviously no guarantee of that and or that he'll be close to 100% if he is.

One thing is certain, the SMC teams will be hardened come playoffs, hopefully healthy as well. I’d love nothing more than for everyone to meet at full strength. I’d say Hayesville vs Cherokee is for 4th rn, but I honestly feel one of the big 3 may struggle with one of them later on…

I’d say so, it would take a much longer dry spell for them to not be, considering no other teams on the SMC even come close to replacing them overall.

I’ve been pretty vocal about and critical of their coaching. They’ve wasted a lot of talent these past 10 or so years due to incompetence and playcalling. I also firmly believe had they been better coached 2023’s Western Regional finals would’ve been hosted by Swain with Swain having the ability to Challenge Tarboro.

Talent has almost never been the issue with Swain, very much like Cherokee.
