They have good size on the line. They scored only on big plays. One was a KO return, one was a long pass on a busted coverage and the final was a long run where the back broke several tackles.

Not trying to highjack the thread but does Mitchell consistently have a JV program? I’m just asking because this makes 2-years in a row that we( Pisgah) have opened with Mtn. Heritage and they haven’t had one either year. I would think if Mitchell could field one so could Mtn. heritage.

Disregard above post. It seems the two conferences above play 7,8,9th grade JV ball whereas those grades are middle school and JV ball for us. I had just assumed they didn’t have enough players. Makes sense now why these two conferences pair off for JV matchups.

Hayesville was a scrimmage but none the less, Mitchell does not seem to have up and coming talent like normal. BUT still had enough on the JV’s to beat the Green team twice last year.
This year may be different but I will say the first half tonight does not give me warm and fuzzy feelings.

Cherokee was a lot bigger than us in our scrimmage and more or less had there way with us offensively, we got some stops later on in the scrimmage and we looked pretty decent offensively the final score was 5 scores to 5 scores but at one point it was 4-1 or 4-2 Cherokee.

Yeah I've seen undefeated jv teams do terrible on varsity and I've seen terrible jv teams do excellent on varsity lol

Disagree mitchell j v have some good looking linemen , that 8 th grade back going be really good. Hayesville might be best j v team in wnc.

Watch their varsity against west wilkes last Friday, they look horrible. West wilkes could do whatever they wanted. Avery does have good qb with lot potential feel sorry gor the kid.

Well, in your defense I think it was originally scheduled as a scrimmage. When Andrews dropped their JVs both teams agreed to make it a game.

The future doesn’t look good in Andrews for football. We didn’t have enough players for a Midget or Jv team

That is surprising. Everyone has a year where numbers are down, but this must be a couple of classes back to back with low numbers.

Yes. At Hayesville we usually have years where we have good skill players or good linemen. It is rare for us to have both, well it looks like we do now.

Yes but our HS enrollment is up around 226 so I think kids are losing interest. We actually just have 2 youth teams this year instead of 4. I hate to see this but I understand
