That's the rumor. If it happens, you have to think Neal Brown will be a top candidate at SMU. Hot name, similar system, has recruited in Texas.

Been mentioned as has Fedora before UNC's costly loss today. Mike Singletary too.

I hope Baylor looks at a few other people first.

Morris hasn't made a real big splash as HC yet, still some work to be done at SMU.

Heard someone say Mike Singletary...Baylor alum...his reputation proceeds him wherever he goes...

I would like to see Baylor go all in with Chip Kelly. Perfect set up for him to come right in and take off. Briles era athletes would fit Kelly's system well.

After that I'd wait to see what happen's with Brian Kelly at ND. Word is he may look to go pro though. Would still try and gauge his interest though.

After that I look at a guy like Scott Frost. From the Kelly Oregon tree. Very well liked and respected guy. Again, the Oregon offense would go over very well at Baylor.

Then you have guys like Ken Niumatalolo and Troy Calhoun who I think could come in and bring a level discipline, respect and integrity to a Baylor program that is hurting in the public opinion and PR arena. Both also very good coaches who have excelled at military academies that don't have the athletes or set a lot of time and resources aside for football.

Willie Taggart is a name that should start to ping on some radars as well.

Randy Shannon, Randy Edsell, Gene Chizik, Greg Schiano, Brady Hoke, Rocky Long...all names I would look into if I'm Baylor, Houston, SMU

If Mullen is out at MSU, look for Brown to be at the top of their list.

Why would Brown go to SMU?
Lateral step, at best. Houston is a better a stepping stone place. But the last Troy coach got a PAC12 job. There's more jobs going to open up and Brown's name will be up for them. I could see Texas Tech trying to get him back. 2nd losing season in three years

I think it is a pretty nice step up. But if he were offered Miss st or Texas tech obviously those are better. I doubt they fire their coaches, though.

If Chip Kelly is going anywhere, it's not to Baylor. That place is a hot mess and he is a top 5 coach,

Mullen is getting fired?

A couple of things are going on with Mullen. There are some who want to move on from him and some that think he will move on from them.

If he loses to Ole Miss tomorrow the drum beat will get louder.

The problem with him job hunting is his $4MM+ salary. Who's going to top that for a guy coming off a bad year?

Mullen's situation is interesting. I think he's probably reached his ceiling at Miss St. Don't forget too, they have a new AD. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he doesn't move on or gets moved on.
