Kristen Wiig was terrible because all of her characters were. And that Domingo sketch got old really quick
I was only able to watch half of it, but I thought it was pretty solid. Maybe SNL just needs to lean into past cast, more than ever. They really haven't found their next casting "era" and it's showed in recent years.
Liked almost all the skits up to the half way point and hoping to finish the rest soon.

Interesting take by Bill Simmons: he thinks the fact that they bring a lot of guys back / get famous people to play specific roles rather than letting new cast members do those roles ends up hurting the show. For example, instead of having Carvey play Biden, have a current or new member work that role. It would get the audience more invested to the new members.
The counter to that is the current cast can’t cover the roles and Carvey rules.
The guy they have that plays Trump now is pretty good but they handled Biden horribly (on purpose I know that’s why they had Jim Carrey)
Yeah, it is 50 years of SNL, not current members trying to replace legends doing their skits. The legends are the reason it lasted 50 years, you have to give them their flowers for being amazing. Obviously too many greats to name, SNL was / is one of a kind. I always enjoyed the musical guest, MOST of the time, they didn't disappoint. Thought Lil Wayne did a really solid job for the 50 year special.

No lie, enjoyed all of it. Stalled a bit a few times but legit laughed at most all the skits. The greats don’t disappoint much. Cackled at Eddie Murphy and Will Ferrell.
Only thing I legit didn't enjoy was the Debbie Downer sketch. That one just didn't get there. Everything else was good to me.
It took about the 3rd zoom in on her face before I cracked. Didn’t enjoy it. Then did. Then laughed. Basically how I remember the old Debbie Downers when they were new.

I have never thought much about Kim Kardashian, but she made Scarlett Johansson look ugly in that skit. Holy smokes.
