So, calling Cruz's children 'monkies' isn't racist?

Context is everything. The cartoon was saying he uses them like trained monkeys. A more PC thing to say would have made them marionettes.
No matter on what side one happens to sit politically, publishing this cartoon redefined the term stupidity for the Washington Post. IMO, the editor.....I believe his name is Fred Hiatt......who approved it even if only by extension (and not direct act) should arguably (and justifiably) be worried about his job.
But IMO, Temerity Ted Cruz damned well better look in the mirror. The Post may indeed be bunch of whores.....probably not the first time they've been identified as such.....but Cruz proved the kind of father he is by jamming them into the heart of his campaign. And, to my way of thinking, that's worse than what any newspaper publishes. Meanwhile, where was the kids' Mother when that TT was shooting his daughters in the studio ??

I believe that was her sitting right beside them in the video I saw. Maybe if he goes up against Hilliary, they can depict Chelsea as a govt employee getting money for nothing, which is what she does for $600,000 from the Clinton fpoundation.
I was admittedly so focused on TT and his little girls' fun that I honestly didn't realize his wife was in the "ad".
Meanwhile, even if this indeed was intended as a parody......which I freely admit I didn't realize when I made my OP.....then Cruz and his wife remain fully complicit in the issue and are deserving of any criticism they get (which really doesn't appear to be very much). And any parallels you will attempt to draw here between precocious kids and married, 35-year old (and well-known political advocate of her mother) Chelsea Clinton is something I honestly can't figure out. Of course, neither can you.
Meanwhile, I still think......assuming he's still working for the WaPo this morning.....the Editor is fortunate to be collecting a paycheck this week.
It was meant as an indictment of the democratic party as the party of getting something for nothing. Of course, the Foundation can just shake down another country to help pay for Chelsea's salary. Nothing wrong with that we give way too much to a lot of these crooked foreign govts.
If he was THE editor of the WP it would perhaps be feasible to overlook something. I think the guy was the editor of the editorial section. That's another thing altogether.
It's all about context. When GHW Bush referred to some of his Grandkid's as "The little brown ones", it caused an uproar because it seemed as if he was differentiating between those kids and the others.

Oh dear Lord, do you not see the difference? The race of people does cause a distinction in usage of that term. Geez.
So thats why they were depicted as monkeys? I love how some jump to the "context" reference when it suits their agenda. I'll be watching for your "context" reference in the next Trump thread.
Funny how Trump came out in support of Cruz and saying that his children and family should be left alone. Yet, it was Trump who attacked Jeb Bush for having a Mexican wife. HA!
