This was my third colonoscopy, and my polyps have always been benign and pedunculated. The prior two times, he called the polyps benign immediately after the procedure and was proven correct by the pathology reports. I trust him.

My doctor said he that is far more concerned when he finds polyps attached to the walls of the colon. Those types of polyps are more likely to be cancerous. Fortunately, I have not had those. However, he did say that if I keep pedunculating, I will go blind.

Please get a colonscopy as required by your doctor, especially if you are over 50. Yes, the prep sucks a$$, but it is worth it in the end.

My now retired gastroenterologist is a ND fan. As I was fading off he would play the ND fight song. He also told me he had the apparatus in the freezer all weekend.

The recommendations are now to get a screening colonoscopy beginning at age 45. Unfortunately, there is an increasing incidence in colon cancer (as well as other cancers) in younger demographics.

If you slept through the colonoscopy, you did have a great nap. Most places are high volume, quick turnover departments. The goal is to get you on your way sooner than later because there might be 15+ other patients getting a colonoscopy by that same physician that day.

Pedunculated is ok. At least you’re not fungating.
