Hearing voices in your head? I suggest daily doses of risperidone and lithium, to start. But understand that medications can take time to work, and this may not be the best 'cocktail' for you. Only time will tell.

Hopefully we'll have it all sorted out before a new coach is hired sometime in late December/early January. Then those pesky voices won't be bothering you as the assistants, coordinators and recruits are all sorted out.

Can't see us waiting past signing day for a playoff coach but man it will be dramatic if we're in late December and haven't named anyone.

Mike Elko ; Texas A & M or Brian Hartline. Times a ticking. Kraft going after ELKO hard.
A&M is 8-0 so there's no way Elko would commit to PSU earlier than mid January. By then a lot more players will have opted to transfer and new players in the portal would have already been looking at other teams.

I read that Elko grew up in NJ and went to UPenn so I guess he has some ties to the region but other than that I don't understand why he would leave a good thing at A&M to come to a total rebuild at PSU.

It seems like none of these people would even want the job. Elko is winning big already at A&M. Hartline is probably too big of an OSU fan to come to PSU. Brohm and Drinkwitz seem to be better fits where they are than they would be at Penn State.

Starting to wonder if Kenny Chesney might be the only one left to take it.

Name your sources. Because a poster on another forum who has “sources” claims it’s Brohm or Drinkwitz. I think people who say they know, don’t know Sh^t.
It's Elko's job if he wants it...
I'm sure some people are just making stuff up. That's normal. And insiders can also have misinformation but those that know are saying Kraft wants Elko and is giving him time to consider it. Hartline, Brohm and others are in the mix.
I don't believe Eli is realistic at this time. He might be in Baton Rouge soon...

It seems like all of them would want the PSU job. Kenny Chesney would give up music for it.

I agree with most of what you wrote though I think it will be Diaz as the one left standing.

If Rhule did (desperately) why agree to the extension now? Why not try to slow play it until the end of the season to leave the PSU job as a possibility?

I'm sure "many" coaches want this job but is right guys who can succeed?

I'm hearing it's Meyer, and he's bringing Hartline as OC, Day as DC, and 20 players from OSU.

All you "I'm hearing" guys are hearing precisely shiat... You're throwing every name in the book out there so at the end you can proclaim you were right.

Offers of better contracts have short shelf-lives. Think days, not weeks, and certainly not til the end of the season.

I like the idea of Hartline except he doesn't have the head coaching experience. I find it hard to believe that the PSU job is going to go to someone without experience.

Mike Elko has less of a resume than Franklin. I don't know would make people think that he will be more successful than Franklin.

Argh, you made me Google. That is a wicked schedule, especially on the road. I know nothing. I have zero inside sources. I wanted Meyer. If twitterverse comments are to be believed, Kraft wants head coaching experience, great recruiter, portal manipulator and the ability to work with a GM. Pardon my ignorance, does Penn State currently have a GM?

Fans tend to overestimate the appeal of their good ole alma mater. This is a great opportunity but less than most on here realize

They're just watching videos and reading things from other people who don’t know and then they pretend like they have connections. First it was Rhule now Elko then it will be someone else. It’s the beginning of November for **** sake unless it’s Hartline or another assistant nothing is getting done anytime soon.

I would like the idea of Hartline as an OC under a guy like Meyer, but as a HC... I agree, but we'll see. Maybe if the rumors are true and Meyer lobbies hard for him (although why PSU would reject Meyer for a bad interview on NIL but then buy what he's selling on Hartline...not sure I buy that line of reasoning).

Elko went 8-5 at TAMU last year, his first year, actually not bad, but TAMU didn't play any of the "tough" SEC teams other than Missouri and LSU (he won both) and won at Florida. He did lose to ND and Texas. This year, he's got remaining Missouri (this week, at Mizzou), then South Carolina, then Samford, then at Texas. He could get his team into the SEC championship if he can beat Mizzou this week, and even if he loses to Texas. I can see TAMU playing well into January. The question really becomes, what will TAMU do to keep Elko, and for Penn State, which candidates do you put "on hold" while waiting for Elko to become available?

Elko makes sense, but TaM is gonna be in the playoffs. That complicates things. Plus he's gonna cost a fortune.

If that's your guy - go for him and wait if you have to. No time to be cheap or impatient.

We can have Luke Combs and Jelly Roll as OC and DC.
